Q1 - yess
Q2 - no
Works like a charm. Plug n Play and you are all set :+1:

If you are interested - there are a couple of threads on this topic in this forum. My answer above basically sums it up, though.

Thanks man i think that they are the best controllers for Cubase as they are one to one that is one function for one knob . Are you on Windows 11?..

No, this rig is still on Win 10 but CMC controllers are working perfectly fine on Win 11, too.

Thanks , :smile:time for upgrading to Cubase 14

Does it work on windows with ARM cpus?

That would be of interest to know although i don’t think so because the drivers are written for the x86 platform .,
we need someone with an ARM CPU PC to tell as .

Hi, So far I did not find the needle in the haystack: Where do I assign the CMC AI to Cubase 14?
Thx!

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Can you elaborate on this? It should be plug and play…

Hi Reco29,
I did pray but it did not help. It worked well in Cubase 11.
I did install TOOLS_for_CC121_V177_Win64 for the drivers (USB-MIDI Driver and CC121 Extension). Also tried to remove all other USB things and used a free USB port.
What it does:
The CMC AI is recognized by Windows 10, beep with uptones. The led in the right corner lights constantly. The buttons of F1 .. F4 and < > are shortly lid (green) when pressed. That’s all.
When I hoover over volumes and pans there is no response. AI cannot be activated. It feels dead except for some led lightning.
Does this bring a clue?
Have a nice day.

Hi,

you are talking about the CMC AI, right?

In that case you might have installed the wrong drivers and software.

Please install Tools for CMC 1.1.3 (Windows 10 - 64 bit or 32 bit version depending on your OS) and make sure that you also update the firmware of the CMC AI (important). You find everything here:

Afterwards it’s just Plug n Play.

You can enable the background lights here:
Studio/SteinbergCMCSeries >LED Dimmer

If you want to customize F1 to F4 you can do it here:
Studio/Studio Setup/Steinberg CMC-AI

Hope that helps!

Hi Reco29,
That was of great help , you showed the right direction of the needed files. The CMC AI now works fine and will be again offering fine comfort in actions on Cubase.
Thanks! Ed
