Hello all, Drag and Drop is missing from my Cubase preferences (14.0.20). Also somehow the key command for constrain direction changed for me. From shift to command, but I can’t change it back.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hi,
Reported to Steinberg. Thank you.
Btw, the Constrain Direction function is working, even though it’s not in the list.
Thanks for reporting. I think this only happened with the latest update.
Gonna roll back as I don’t want to relearn muscle memory to then unlearn that in another 3 months or whenever a fix comes out.
I am also suffering from the same bug.
I am really sick of new bugs being added with every update.
This seems to be more and more of the folly of adding this bug since the update from 13.
I’m sorry, how does one report to Steinberg?
I’m a Japanese user and I couldn’t figure out how to report it.
I think that if multiple people report it, it will increase the possibility of the next improvement.
I would like to report it too!
when @Martin.Jirsak reports, it gets to the right people
FYI I rolled back to 14.0.10 and the Drag and Drop category reappeared, but when I change the command from “Command” to “Shift”, it doesn’t work. Holding down “Shift” does not constrain the movement.
So this is indeed broken in more than one way
I just updated Nuendo from V13 toV14 this morning and can confirm that the Drag and Drop parm has disappeared from preferences in V14 after the update (also confirmed on Cubase 14.0.20).
As Martin says though, the Constrain Direction function still works and the keystroke (Ctrl in my case) remains the same.
Both machines are Windows 11 24H2.
please report also, the whole drag&drop menu disappeared - can not longer make a shared copies
Hi,
What do you mean by this, please? Where is the menu?
The Alt+Shift modifier while frag and drop is still creating the Shared copy.
Look at my original screenshot. The “Drag and Drop” category disappeared. Anyone who has a non standard key command for “Constrain Direction”, “Copy” or “Shared Copy” will be having issues.
You are correct that if you look up the default key commands you can still use these functions. But for many of us with custom key commands, the user experience is that the feature is no longer working.
Hi,
I see. This has been reported already.
The thing is it DOESN’t
@rockdude9k Why is this topic marked as “solved”? The issue has not been fixed yet, has it?
I didn’t mark it as solved. At least not intentionally
Hi,
I marked it as solved because it has been reported.
So everyone who comes here and reads the first post will see that this has been reported already. The other users don’t have to ask what the solution is and report it again and again.
For now, this is the solution. Once an update with the fix is released, I will post it here and change the solution for that new message.
Okay, this may be an issue that needs to be cured by the thread rules and regulations, but
it might be better to label
“reported” than to label something that has not at least been resolved as “resolved”.
I am not accusing Mr. Martin of anything, just in case.
Maybe easier said than done, since this forum software isn’t designed as a support ticket and tracking system. So it may not be easy to have multiple status indicators.
I prefer to think of the “Solution” status as merely being “Answered” in the context of this forum thread.
Ya, I agree. Even though Cubase hasn’t updated the software yet, the issue has been identified as a legitimate bug and has been reported as such. As far as this forum is concerned that’s about as much as can be done.
I understand the frustration though, this is driving me crazy and affecting my work. I might have to go back to 13 because of this bug.
