Cubase 14 "mediaserver 0_9_3 not registered" error at startup

Hello!

Clean install of Cubase 14, fresh preferences. Windows 11

This message pops up twice every time I start Cubase. Any idea what is the problem? Already tried reinstalling with no luck.
Everything else besides the more erratic performance meter seems to work fine.

I’ve been using Cubase since version 5 and have never seen this one.

Thanks!

Hey,

So what helped for me was, reboot and reinstallation.
What I figured was, that somehow my tools got mostly removed, and I had to completely reinstall all Management tools. But that did the Trick for me.

Thanks!

Can you elaborate on what you mean by “tools”? I tried re-installing Cubase but unfortunately, the problem is still here.

I manually reinstalled the Media Bay, since for me all tools have been removed somehow. Maybe also check, in case you use symlinks, if these got broken. It was for me the case.

In Total, these where all the Tools I manualy Installed:

  • Steinberg Activation Manager
  • Steinberg built-in ASIO Driver (Windows only)
  • Steinberg Library Manager
  • Steinberg Installation Manager
  • Steinberg MediaBay

Okay! I have all of these installed except Mediabay.

I thought it never was a separate program outside of Cubase? How do you install this one manually?

It is on the download pages, if you want it separately. It should also be installed by launching the Download Assistant, because it is part of the tool set.

Unfortunately I can’t post a link here, but you can find the download on the support page by downloads:

Thank you guys! This fixed the issue.

For Steinberg: it seems like the “download assistant” did not install the Media Bay tool for some reason (it ran an update after the Cubase 14 release).

Same situation as @Sn0wFl4ke explained earlier. Expect I had everything (automatically) installed except that media bay tool.
