Cubaseâs devs may look at this list, say âThis guy is right, let get revamping!â, and the result may a garish, inconsistent mess, which 50% of users will love and the rest hate. Like Cubase 13.
Without some detail/idea itâs hard to comment.
EG One of my biggest gripes with the GUI is that the toolbars are stuck at the top of the window. Since most monitors are in landscape mode, this makes no sense. Better if they were on the sides. And editable and floatable, like the old (outdated/very old design?) MS Office toolbars.
Seems like I disagree with but I actually do agree with you.
To be honest GUI is very difficult to change in that direction that everybody likes it. It is like a clothes style. The problem is not that not everybody likes it but the changes were not consistent. Like the job was just 70% done and I just wanted to highlight where the work was not finished. The way is another questionâŚ
Personally I like what C13 GUI looks like and the direction as well.
The biggest difference would be to offer us custom theming options so the community can put together schemes that work for different users, different eyes etc.
Yes maybe you are right. Custom Themes would be a game changer. But first of all they have to finish their own new Theme and not just 70% of their Theme.
Resizeable elements in the main interface - they are so, so small on a 4K monitor. âPleaseâ of course
Even if itâs just the text, that would help.
These are a work in progress, I think. In the same league, we recently got a revamp of the Key Commands one (which still has issues, but itâs another debate).
I donât get where are the issues with all these, honestly. They are better than what was existing in Cubase 6.5, in example. Concerning the Quantize panel, I actually like the slightly 3D look of these buttons. I even think that Steinberg designers should have put them in all the dialog windows, soâŚ
I disagree again : actually, I think that the background of it is perfect for what it is designed for : to clearly display the parameter values that are in it. I wouldnât like these to be tamed by a more or less brighter background. What would be good in my opinion, though, is if the Info Line was taking less vertical place (as in pre Cubase 5.5 version).
Overall, my remarks clearly show that, as already and rightly stated in this very thread, no matter what Steinberg could/will do, there will always be users dissatisfied and consequently feature requests, UI related. So, and contradicting myself, here are mine :
Two independent color settings for horizontal and vertical grid in the arrange page (on my end, to be able to get rid of the unnecessary horizontal lines separating the tracks).
A color setting for the 0 automation line to tame its too bright color.
A fully functional Tab key in dialog windows.
A complete overhaul of the Color Picker window behavior and implementation, especially the way the H, S and V parameters are managed.
A âSearchâ function in the Preferences window, as it has been recently implemented in the Key Commands one.
Stronger Stability is my first request, second, use of Dorico live playing inside Cubase, Piano Live playing export midi to orchestra voicings similar to Divisimate 2, Colors schemes option for colored blind, Midi send option when loading a VST instrument this will greatly help doing Tack template., VST plugins option for 76 keys keyboards layout.
