I found this annoying bug in Cubase 14. When I try to load another instrument of change the port in the search zone I can’t write nothing! Just if I will click on - or + when the search is still avaiable. Here is the link to the video of the problem.

I cannot reproduce this on my side on macOS 14.6, and I haven’t seen this issue reported by another user.
It seems there is some kind of focus issue. The cursor is not blinking in the text field.
Could you try in the Cubase Safe Start Mode [Disable preferences], please?
If it doesn’t help, could you try to quit Cubase, rename/remove all Cubase version preferences folders (to get the factory settings) and start Cubase again, please?
Cubase Preferences folders are:
Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase X
Win: %appData% \Steinberg\Cubase X_64
Where the X is the Cubase version (for example 14).

If it works, in the Disabled preferences, this means the Defaults.xml file is somehow corrupted.
Quit Cubase, start it again in Safe Start Mode. Click on Delete Preferences now. The defaults.xml file will be deleted and created from scratch.
No. Here is the video from the safe mode. And Delete the preferences don’t help as well. It’s seems like visual bug in Cubase because I can search the synth but don’t see the text

What is the difference between the 2nd and 3rd attempts? I can see you always clicked on the Instrument field in the Add Track dialog. For the 2nd try, the cursor was there, and you were able to write Retrologue. For the 3rd try, the cursor wasn’t there. What am I missing?
Cursor always on the search. And if I click (if I don’t see the search the blinking line) I can’t tape any type of synths. It doesn’t work. So as you can see in the end of the last video in the Safe Mode this blinking line is not showing…

I can see, it was working on the 2nd try, but it wasn’t on the 3rd try. So what was the difference? Or does feel like random for you? You don’t know beforefand, if it’s going to work or not?
On the second try it’s also doesn’t work (0:15 sec on the video) Don’t see the blinking line. But if I search for example “gr” you don’t see the text in the search bar but we see that search is working… But if I will click to the empty bar and try to write something - it doesn’t work.
Still no solution? Really don’t know what I need to do… And btw here is a crash of Cubase 14. Don’t want to create a new topic - it’s the reason why I am put it here

I found this thing in this situation…
When I don’t see the blinking line and try to find instrument or effect and start to type for example - The Grand. I don’t see the text but it is working without the text in the line. And if I click “-” or “+” icon I will see the text in the search line… so, the problem is in Cubase.

Steinberg developers have to fix the issue and release an update with the fix. There is no way, how could the users fix it.
Sure. I know it. And I am Cubase user from version 11. Just really try to help find the reason of this bug. So, I tested all methods and the results are the same. In other applications all is working as expected. This one is really annoying and really hope for the fix…
I am watching the Club Cubase stream right now. And this bug is also on Greg Mac. Here is the screenshot of his computer from the stream. So, NO the blinking line in the search area… So, the problem is here on Mac platform and last operation system.
