In other words, is it easier now to open a Dorico project in Cubase 15 and work on it?
(I admit I am curious as to how much the Dorico Team has contributed to the update)

Ooh. I bought a cheap crossgrade from Logic during the sales, but I havenāt used the code till today, so I get a āgrace periodā upgrade!
Iāll have a play with it and see what I can figure out.
Iāve just updated so will keep you posted on the subject ![]()
Music Chef has created a very interesting video : it turns out you canāt import a Dorico expression map into Cubase 15 (yet), but itās possible to drag and drop it, and it works!
Hello @MarcLarcher,
Well, I have upgraded to Cubase 15 a very good upgrade, btw. ![]()
Still Cubase doesnāt look compatible enough with Doricoā¦
I came up with some interesting thoughts about the future of some products of Steinberg. One of them inspired by Affinity 3, and probably Presonus Studio One (as they donāt, actively, work on new versions of Notion for Desktop)ā¦
Best wishes,

Thank you, Marc! Iām interested in this. It looks some things are borrowed from EMs in Dorico, such as Add ons. Iām no expert at all in EMs, BTW, but I like to see them making strides towards convergence for interoperability between Dorico and Cubase.
How does the Cubase 15 Stem Separation feature compare to SpectraLayers or Logicās Stem Splitter?
I honestly use those a lot to remove drums when doing transcriptions so would be curious to hear what you think of that feature.
Honestly, Iām not really interested in that since I work with SpectraLayers (and it already worked fine in ARA), I suppose itās the sameā¦
Just purchased and gave it a shot with removing drums, which is my most common use ā¦
Source file:
Cubase 15 - Stem Separation (<10 sec)
Logic - Stem Splitter (<10 sec)
SpectraLayers might be able to do better with a bit of editing work, but Logic seems to do a better job than Cubase 15 of removing drums with the quick <10 sec edit.
