Cubase crashing constantly on Mac (not even 2 minutes online)

Please, somebody help me.
I’m using cubase 11 pro with Apple 2013 trash can. When I play, the audio reproduces for a few seconds and the cubase crashes. This is frustrating, I simply can’t use the software.
I have a bunch of archives .crash here, and here’s the last one.
Cubase 11_2024-02-22-160718_Demodomes-Mac-Pro.crash (166.9 KB)
What that can be? some VST?
The project I’m working is heavy (I think), but I’m starting (or at least trying) to mix right now. It will be much heavier. In the init of project this issue not happened

I don’t know if this matters for this issue, but cubase is aways using about 250 to 300% of CPU.

My machine configuration:
Mac trash can 2013 - 3,7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5 - 48Gb 1660 MHz DDR3
I will upgrade this processor soon, but I don’t think it’s the source of the issue.

Jesus Christ, this Cubase is driving me crazy…
In a tentative of keep working, I tried to export all tracks and use it to start mixing, but all that I got is this windows

What version of Mac OSX are you running? Are you using an interface? Can you render any of your tracks in place in the prject? That can save CPU resources on big projects.

hello Wildschwein, thanks for the answer!
I’m using Mojave.
By interface, do you mean audio card? If yes, I’m using a focusrite scarlett 2i2.
And yes, I can render in place normally.
I made a test exporting just a few tracks multiple times and it worked. And used all tracks in a new project. Cubase crashed a bunch of times, but less than before. It’s working if I save in every modification made.
My frustration is that this machine has power to hand a single electronic music project (about 90 to 100 tracks), but something here is not ok. Last year I was using a less powered machine and these issues never happened.
I’d like to know how to find what’s wrong in crash log. I saw in log that’s a VST Loader thread crash, but i don’t know what that really means.

I don’t know the answer but having more information about the whole picture helps other users here narrow down possible reasons. It’s more than likely a plugin causing the problem but do you actually have 100 odd tracks on the project or are you just confident the machine can handle that much?

Have you seen this thread about reading crash dumps?

Another thing people recommend as a first step in diagnosing problems is to try disabling or trashing the preferences.

Wooow, thanks a lot, really!!

I didn’t knew about this thread. I’ll check for more and another infos in the forum.

About trashing the preferences, I did it, but nothing different happened.

Try creating a brand new project.

The same results?

Quit Cubase and relaunch, holding down the option/alt and shift (I think) and selecting just the default plugins.

Same results?

Check your disk using Disk Utility or some of the other 3rd party disk utilities.

Also, turn off everything, unplug and replug all your external devices. Clears up a bunch of stuff.

I had an old MIDI interface that I thought was dying; as a last effort before tossing it, I cleaned the plug and socket with contact cleaner, and it works perfectly now.

Old machines require a bit of maintenance.
