Hey, i’m trying to install cubase elements trial, i’ve downloaded the download assistant, but when i select the elements trial i only have option to download full Cubase Pro.
I was able to activate elements trial in activation manager, but the app is in pro mode.
As @Googly_Smythe already said, there is only a single installer for all releases. The difference is determined by the license and, as far as I know, the trial Always enables the Pro Version.
OK, i’ve fiddled with it and i see that Cubase will launch in the highest version of all enabled versions in Activation Manager. So when i have a trial of Pro on my one laptop and i want to test Elements on a second laptop i need to disable pro trial before launching the program.
No, that does not change it in any way. Steinberg Licensing allows you to activate Cubase on up to three computers at the same time. Deactivating on one machine and activating on another gives you exactly the same license.
If you want to test other editions you need to press the Alt (Windows) or Opt (Mac) key while starting Cubase. Then you will see this screen
On the Steinberg website, you can get a trial for both Cubase Pro 14 and Cubase Elements 14. This gives you the option that Juergen suggested, or you can control it via the Activation Manager, as you mentioned. Just keep in mind that Cubase will always try to launch the highest available version (but the first time it launches whatever is activated in the Activation Manager and then it might activate a better version in the background). So the next time you start Cubase, it may open as Cubase Pro again. If that’s an issue, you can also disable the automatic license management in the Activation Manager settings to completely keep control of your activated licenses on your own.
