Cubase GUI still turning blank white despite troubleshoot settings

Hey there,

Despite using the troubleshoot instructions on this page:

I’m still having a lot of issues with the GUI turning white. It happens only to the Mixer and Editors. Also the project-cursor disappears. I am using an Intel Ultra 9 285k with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060. Cubase 13 Pro on Windows 11 Pro. All my monitors are set to 60hz. I tried both studio drivers and game ready drivers. I don’t have the option of number 2 in the nvidia system settings even on game ready drivers.

Can someone help me out here?

Hi,

Ensure, you have the latest driver version installed.

Please try this:

  • Download the latest Studio driver version from here. If there is no Studio driver for your graphic card, use the one, which is available and continue with the same steps below.
  • Disconnect the computer from the Internet to ensure Windows will not download and install its graphic driver.
  • Uninstall the NVIDIA driver.
  • Restart the computer.
  • Start the NVIDIA driver installation (as administrator).
  • Don’t install the whole package, use the Custom (Advanced) settings.
  • Disable everything (don’t install NVIDIA Experience, PhysX, etc.), and keep the video driver enabled.
  • Connect your computer to the internet.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the quick response. I tested it a while now and it semms to have helped a lot, even without setting vsync to fast and prefer maximum performance. While the graphic glitches are gone now, I’m still having lots of other crashes. Sometimes closing an instance of Kontakt, sometimes just random freezes, sometimes while closing a project or cubase. Sometimes I can’t even close it with the task-manager. Happens since I switched to this new PC, my (very) old one did barley have issues, only some cpu problems with big projects. Do you have any idea what to do? I can’t even work properly at the moment, it’s bad:(

Best and thanks,

Nicolai

If the CPU has on-board graphics, use Windows Settings to force Cubase to use that instead of the 5060. It has plenty of muscle to handle anything Cubase can throw at it.
(On Windows 10 it’s Settings->Display->Graphics settings->Choose an app to set preference.)
I’m assuming you’re using the last version of 13? Cubase 13 was a dog’s breakfast on release, but most, if not all, graphics issues were fixed by the last update (0.55, I believe).

Hello and thanks for the reply. In order to fix this I checked everything I use for updates, including cubase. I have the latest version. I think the graphics problem has been solved by getting rid of PhysX. I need three monitors for most projects so unfortunately I can’t use my iGPU, as my mainboard hasn’t enough outputs. I don’t know what the problem is now, but I think it might have something to do with handling of vst3 plugins.

Ok, I reacted too early, the graphic glitches are also still there. turned vsync to fast and prefer maximum performance, but that also didn’t help. Before I installed the drivers like you said, I manually removed Nvidia PhysX. Was I supposed to do that with everything on my PC from Nvidia. At the moment, when I look up Nvidia in my Apps, I have: Nvidia App; Nvidia Control Panel; Nvidia HD-Audiodrivers; Nvidia Frameview sdk 1.5… (besides of course the graphics drivers). Should any of this be removed before installing the drivers again like you said? Could be a coincidence but I only noticed these glitches while working on projects with a video file. But not 100% sure. Getting a little desperate here:/
