Cubase LE/AI 12: free updates for users of previous versions
Well. I’ve contacted my local distributor. They’ve sent me some kind of code. It appeared to be not the Download Acces Code, but an Activation Code. So now I have “Cubase AI (Upgraded to Steinberg Licensing)” with no version number enlisted in my “eLicenser Control Center” and also I can see it on “My Products” page. But I have nothing in “Steinberg Activation Manager” and nothing in “Steinberg Download Assistant”. Anyone knows what to do?
Maybe instal and try to activate.
You can still download it without on activation code.
For myself I created a ticket which gave me download code after some conversation with a rep about why I owned cubase le
Great service
So I have an 11 LE license and never got the email to move to 12. I know this is an old topic, but with eLicenser being EOLed, it would be very helpful to get a license that will work going forward. Has anyone dealt with this recently?
I don’t think I got an email but I logged into My Steinberg account and it was here for me:
I had a Cubase LE activated in my eLicenser account before they moved over to the new system.
No such luck for me. The license just appears under “Show eLicenser-based products” and sits on my USB dongle.
I checked my emails and I did receive an email with an activation code.
The advice on this archived page in Wayback machine says if you haven’t received an email then contact support:
The email went out in March 2022. You could check your trash or SPAM folders in your email account for anything that says Cubase LE.
I searched. It’s not there. Sent an email to support. Thanks!
I think that if you already see a license in your Steinberg Licensing profile for “Cubase LE”, it is no longer tied to a particular version.
Try just downloading Cubase LE 13 via the Steinberg Download Assistant (SDA) and installing it.

You then have to activate the license it via Steinberg Activation Manager (SAM).

I don’t see “Cubase LE” under Steinberg Licensing. I see it under my USB eLicenser which, to the best of my knowledge, is not supported by any version after 11.
Just try downloading and installing Cubase LE 13, then check again.
You will need to contact Steinberg support in that case.
@yevster add you request on the thread below, perhaps Matthias can help.
