I just found out about the new licensing system. I would like a possiblity to upgrade to version which supports Steinberg Licensing because I’m worried that I will loose access to my software. Yesterday I upgraded Windows which required reactivating Cubase. This will not be possible after eLicenser in phased out…
You can go to the Steinberg Website and click on the button “Buy Cubase 14”, there you can select which release you want and from what release you want to do the update.
After byuing the update you will get the latest Cubase 14, which is using Steinberg Licensing.
What release do you currently run? Is it LE, or AI, or Elements, you can find that out when you launch Cubase and look at the splash screen
I was rather thinking about a software update which will allow me using the new licensing system. I don’t need new features, I just need to be sure I can keep using what I have and what I paid for.
You ask about “Cubase LE AI Elements 11”, but these are three different editions that share a single executable. Your current license determines which one you can use.
The splash screen when you start Cubase will tell you which one you have.
So, what edition of Cubase 11 do you currently have?
Is it:
- Cubase LE
- Cubase AI
- Cubase Elements
Well, the application shortcut is labeled ‘Cubase LE AI Elements 11’ (also when I go to Help it’s ‘About Cubase LE AI Elements’).
Splash screen says ‘Cubase LE 11’
OK, what you currently have then is a “Cubase LE” license on the Soft-eLicenser, and that can be transferred at no cost to a “Cubase LE” license on the Steinberg Licensing system, which is exactly what you want. Once that is done, you can use Steinberg Download Assistant to download and install the latest version of Cubase LE and activate it.
The only problem is getting someone in Steinberg to do that transfer for you. You should first try logging a ticket on “My Steinberg”. You should also check the following topic and add a request for Matthias, who has assisted others.
Thanks man!
