Steinberg Download Assistant, it is the portal to download everything Steinberg and install to your computer.

You have the same issue I had.

Windows 7 has no more support by Microsoft.

Cubase 10 needed the latest update pack for Windows 7 to run.
As Microsoft dropped all support, they deleted all updates for Windows 7.
As such, Cubase 10 wouldn’t run.
So I decided to upgrade to windows 10.
Then it turned out that by Motherboard was incompatible with Windows 10.

Isn’t that awesome???

I had to trash my computer and fork out over £2,500 for a new PC…

So, unless you stay with Cubase 8 or 9 , you will have problems my friend.

But as I said, the download assistant won’t work with Windows 7, it’s all done so that people will keep buying stuff, isn’t that awesome???

I did put up a fight on a post about this (VST 2 plugins). You have no idea how much this angers me.

In short, no , they don’t have to trash anything. Leaving the old service packs wouldn’t kill Microsoft for people who cannot afford to buy new computers.

I love it how all industries work in tandem to get things unworkable to the point where people have to trash equipment they bought with their hard earned money…
