Cubase Sales Promotion March 2024 & Partner Products free of charge for all Cubase 13 customers

I already have melodyne 5 essential from the update to Cubase 12, what can I do with this new serial number? Can I give it away, sell it, register it anyway and have 2 licenses? Other? Advice?

I’m curious about this too. There’s no mention of ā€œnot for resaleā€.
A few things in the promo I’m not interested in that I’d sell of give away.

Thank you so much for the promotion!

hi @Lee_N , I found an answer to our question (previously asked by @Tom_Topp) and it seems possible to transfer the ā€œdoubleā€ license of Melodyne

I have to say, I’m underwhelmed by this current Cubase promo. I have Cubase Pro 11 and didn’t upgrade to Cubase Pro 12 as it had incompatibilities with macOS/Apple Silicon at that time. So now, instead of 40-50 per cent off, as seen in previous deals, I’m to be grateful for 30 per cent off and a load of quirky plug-ins that are of little use to me.

I mean, if you know what you’re doing, then who needs yet another compressor, lo-fi treatment or ā€˜vintage-inspired’ synth? And I’ve got Colours Free, which will do for now. And what makes this offer even more unappetising is that I own Celemony Melodyne Studio 5, and I’d be happy to prove it too (as cross-graders are required to do), if it meant that Steinberg offered a more appetising discount, as in days gone by. Whaddya say, Steinberg? I’ll show you my Melodyne Studio 5 registration, if you show me your 50 per cent off promo code?

I won’t hold my breath, but I did think that one way to save a few quid was to buy the upgrade through a dealer, include some lower cost hardware items I’ve been putting off, which would then add up to a shopping cart that qualified for free delivery. What’s not to like? However, I can’t find any retailers offering upgrades to Cubase 13 Pro if you’re already a Cubase Pro user. They’re all Pro upgrades from Artist/Elements/AI. And yet this promo’s FAQ section gives a different impression:

Can I also purchase Cubase with the discount at my local retailer?
Yes, the Cubase sales promotion discount is also available at participating retailers.

So tell me Steinberg, where can I buy a Cubase Pro 11 to Cubase Pro 13 upgrade from ā€œparticipating retailersā€? And don’t say eBay! :joy:

When considering these deals, I try to keep more than myself in mind.

There are some nice freebies in there. And yes, I have a few that make them redundant, but for anyone that doesn’t have a big assortment of plugins, it’s a pretty good offer.

Life. It’s a thing.

I don’t know where you are located. If you are in the US, Sweetwater offers the update …

Steinberg Cubase Pro 13 - Upgrade from Cubase Pro 4-11 | Sweetwater

When considering these deals, I try to keep more than myself in mind.

By that logic, Steinberg should be looking at the bigger picture too.
So why not have different deal options to suit a broader range of users?
Life maybe ā€˜a thing’ to you, but I always thought it was about choices.

I’m in the UK, but interesting to see that these upgrades do exist, so thanks for that.

I even emailed to MusicStore/DV247 sales last week to see if it had Pro upgrades – I have yet to receive a reply.

Choices? Okay, here’s one option: stay with CB11. Here’s another, buy the CB13 upgrade. And still another: wait for CB14, by which point Steinberg may have created a personalized reward system for buying its products.

But if you’re just a cranky individual who cannot be pleased, give Reaper a try…

Do you need to use the partner codes before end of month or can you still download and activate them later? I’m in the middle of something else and I would like to make clean install of OS plus software, but that ain’t going to happen before June…

Choices? Okay, here’s one option: stay with CB11.

Tried that. Steinberg made that choice for me, due to Apple Silicon and macOS compatibility issues with Cubase Pro 12. But I feel it’s time to move on.

Here’s another, buy the CB13 upgrade.

If you’d read my post, that’s exactly what I have in mind except that, despite the Steinberg FAQs on this deal stating I can buy it though a dealer, I have not been able to locate one in my country offering the correct upgrade and have even made dealer enquiries on this matter.

And still another: wait for CB14, by which point Steinberg may have created a personalized reward system for buying its products.

Seems like you’re catching on to my way of thinking, which is gratifying. But I’m sure Steinberg would rather have my cash now, wouldn’t you say?

But if you’re just a cranky individual who cannot be pleased, give Reaper a try…

I’ve have Logic, I rarely use Cubase but needed to get back into it for a studio installation I was involved in a few years ago, hence being on Cubase Pro 11.

I have a fondness for Steinberg going back to the late 1980s and running Pro24 and later Cubit, sorry Cubase on an Atari 1040 STFM (I still have it). So I thought it might be inspiring to get into it again now that VST 2.x has been deprecated and that Cubase is Apple Silicon native. I’ve also Cubasis on my iPad Air, which was a great half-price deal a couple of years ago. And, thanks to the Cubasis Project Importer, my interest in Cubase has been rekindled. See, find that sweet spot with the customer base and it can lead to bigger investments.

It pains me to say it, but your response is teetering on the cranky side. I’m just trying to get all my gear Apple Silicon native and it’s quite a shopping list. I’m also very tempted to invest in SpectraLayers Pro (I’ll check out the trial and see how it goes), so I’m looking to practical solutions, and savings are to be welcomed.

And when it comes to choices, maybe someone at Steinberg could choose to respond with a list of UK dealers where I can buy Cubase Pro 11 to Cubase Pro 13 upgrade from…? Which, as Scab_Pickens kindly pointed out, is available to customers in the US.

I must admit, you do seem to be cheering up somewhat. The perks that you get are included in your Steinberg account. They don’t come from any dealer. Last I checked, I could buy an upgrade for about $101.50 in Canadian dollars directly from Steinberg because I had already paid for CB12’s additional features, which required people to work at coding the app. I see the upgrade from CB11 costs more, probably for that reason.

Not sure what else I can add to the mix. Hope you solve your dilemma.

You can get the upgrade directly from the Steinberg website.

Steve.

Thank you Steve, I am very much aware of that. My thinking was to buy through a dealer and add some other lower cost items at the same time, so the total cost would qualify for free delivery. It kinda stings that a keyboard bag I’m interested in costs Ā£60 and the delivery is another Ā£10., so this approach. seemed practical makes up a bit for the lower discount offered by Steinberg. And yet, despite the Steinberg promo FAQs saying I can buy the upgrade this way, I can’t find it in the UK. I’m sure everyone’s bored of this by now, but I was hoping I might eventually be informed of a suitable UK dealership, as implied in the promo.

Ah, my dilemma… I think it’s important to keep in mind that the original post is about a promotional offer which highlights a level playing field for Steinberg’s retail partners. In short: you can buy our latest discounted Cubase software and plug-in bundle from us or you can buy it from a dealer. Sounds great. But that’s only true for some products in this deal, not all.

The Steinberg part number for the update I’m after is 91715. Do a search for that and you’ll find only Sweetwater and Steinberg itself have it for sale.

In this sense, Steinberg’s promotional statement is misleading:

ā€œā€¦you can now save 30% on all updates, upgrades and full versions… available online at the Steinberg shop and at your local retailerā€

Being able to upgrade from Cubase Pro 4-11 at a discount is likely to be one of the more popular options. And to me, it looks like the dealers will be losing out here, especially as additional sales opportunities, which is what I had in mind, are being missed at the checkout.

I’ve no idea why this Pro upgrade is not being distributed to channel partners and I won’t bother speculating. It just adds to that futile sense of getting what is given (a lower discount, a bunch of surplus-to-requirements plug-ins and purchasing through Steinberg only in the UK), rather getting what you actually want (a better discount and sales outlet choices).

I don’t have a problem spending money on worthwhile products, but I can’t abide wasting money when savings can be made. I’ll be sticking with Cubase Pro 11 on my PC and I’ll just wait for Cubase Pro 14 for my Mac. It feels like a more satisfying approach overall.

Instead, I’ve just bought my long overdue Spectrasonics Omnisphere upgrade and got that keyboard bag I was after delivered for free in the process. I mentioned previously that some deals find a sweet spot, and I’ve come to the conclusion that this one is too flawed to the point where it felt like I was being manipulated, and that just doesn’t do it for me.

I’m waiting for another rock-bottom sale on Absolute. This is my dilemma.

I wonder this too. I cannot seem to find a way to activate code on my already existing splice account.

I dont have anything in my Vouchers vault, recently updated from 12 Pro to 13 Pro.

EDIT: everything appeared after 10 minutes.

Soo I wait almost a month only to have support close my request and to ask if it was still a live question, please ask again???
The the answer was NO… I’m a cubase 10.5 user and was seriously considering upgrading to higher version. It seems to me, to be a a bit lopsided, I have all the partner software so I can only avail of the 30% discount… (which in its self is nice) If there was an offer on some alternate software, it would have made all the difference…
