Hello, again! With Steve’s help, I finally got Cubase SX to read the dongle, and open up- 1 time! But the next time I opened Cubase, it crashed immediately.
It wasn’t the same error message about the elicencer. It was , I think, a plug-in problem.
So I’ve spent a couple of weeks trying to get it to stay open, without luck.
I believe there’s a way to disable plugins on startup, but Cubase needs to be open for me to do that. How can I do that?
Thanks for any advice!
Not in Cubase SX. You’d have to remove all the VST (2) plug-ins, the default path on Windows is in the program files folder, so something like C:\Program Files\Cubase SX 3\Vstplugins.
Hi, Mr.Soundman!
Thank you for your response! I really appreciate that you’re trying to help, but I am not savvy to the stuff you said I need to do. I haven’t touched Cubase in a long time, so I’m back at square 1.
I am afraid to re-install Cubase SX, for fear that I’ll have these problems over again. Any ideas how to proceed?
I have an old G4 Mac, and a MacPro 4.1 (2009) running Os 10.6.8. What I want to do is change all my 15 year old .all and .arr Cubase files to .cpr files (or midi files). Then use a current version of Cubase on my Mac Studio m2, to update and finish what I had hoped would be “my life’s work”!
I’m afraid I can’t help on Mac, but I’m certain there will be someone along who can!
As an aside, this is why I’ve supported @raino 's feature request for a conversion tool.
You might consider voting up the proposal.
Thanks so much, Mr.Soundman! Hopefully someone else can help me. I will vote on @raino’s idea!
