Cubase Vari Audio Freeze all track while editing, Mac M1 Max

Hi,

I can confirm that it works now with Cubase 13.0.30.
But I actually found this issue since Cubase 12 and there is no solution for this version yet.

Cheers.

Wonderful, many thanks.

Fabien

Is the problem resolved? Can I go drink champagne?))

Hi,

Yes, I can confirm the fix in C13.0.30.

Hi,

it’s been one day the problem wasn’t happening while working. And somehow it suddenly happened a few minutes ago.
This time it didn’t follow the old steps I described. Please keep follow the topic, I will try to re-procedure it and let you all know.
Variaudio issue in the new Cubase (13.0.30 Updated)

Hi, I figure it out @Martin.Jirsak @DSabath @Obrazcov

Let me describe step by step:

  1. Select a vocal/ solo audio event, double click to start edit in Lower Zone.
  2. Analyze the event in Variaudio. You can listen to the track carefully before step 3.
  3. While in Editor Zone, press S to solo that selected audio event.
  4. Cut and edit something, try to move or change the pitch.

Result: the audio of the whole project won’t sound anymore, except some of the selected audio event.
I can’t close Cubase as normal, all I can do is force quit it.
Please try and tell me if the issue happen to you this way or not.
Variaudio issue new 13.0.30
Thank you.

Hi @wanabeme308, thank you very much for the detailed description. I’ll try to reproduce and and come back to you.
Cheers
Dirk

I also has an update info.

While trying to find the workaround, I tried to switch the Solo editor mode to “Solo All Clips” instead of the default " Solo follows ‘Clips editing mode’".
The issue is gone. At least till now. I tried to switch it back but the issue is also back when I try to edit the new event.

Yesterday I tuned a big project and everything worked well, without problems, I couldn’t be happier. I specially cut everything, deleted it, returned it, in general, all the functions worked well. Plus, the problems with warping that existed before have disappeared. Of course, I need more time for the test, if I have problems, I’ll write

Hi, I don’t think I am the only one facing this, so please try these step below and tell me if it happen to you or not:

01, In Variaudio, while Solo Editor Mode is set to: Solo follows ‘clip editing mode’, try to change your Clip editing mode to “All Clips”

  1. Solo your audio event, the one you are working on, then try to make some changes.

  2. Result, nothing change, whatever you did.

  3. Switch to another mode. It works again.
Also the issue I just figured out 2 days ago, it will be there if I delete preferences in safe mode.

I also has a new video to show you this. It is weird. I also remember the similar issue happened to me sometimes when I used an Intel i7 Mac.
@Martin.Jirsak @Obrazcov @DSabath please, thank you.

Variaudio issue Soloing Edit

I’ll try tomorrow and write

Hi,

I followed your steps, but I cannot replicate it here on my side (also Mac, but I’m on Mac with M1 processor).

What about the routing, please? Do you use the Control Room? Is the track routed straight to an output, or is it routed to a Group?

Hmmm, that’s weird.
It is also gone away today in my side. Although I tested many times yesterday.
The only option was working well to me is Solo set to Active Clip.
I will check carefully today to be sure.
I would be very happy if it’s not a new issue.

Thank you so much, Martin.

Facing this issue on Cubase Pro 12.0.7 MacOs Tahoe M1 Max.
Having to save a new version of the project every 2 mins as while using Variaudio the audio drops out and cubase hangs completely, having to force shut down. If anyone heard back from steinberg or figured out a fix, please provide.

I can see there is still no major fix for Cubase 12, you should consider paying for an upgrade.

I saw above that upgrading to Cubase 13 worked for you at first but then the issue came back?

Really disappointing that these products that we pay full price for, stop working all of a sudden, forcing us to spend more money to upgrade. At this stage they may as well call it a 2-3 year subscription instead of “one-time” purchase. A similar thing has happened with Groove Agent.
