Do I need to start a new thread with this post in order to get it addressed? I put it here because I do not know if the hiccups and stuttering are because of issues with Cubasis 3.5 for Android, or from an underpowered tablet. But I will be happy to start a new thread with it if that’s what you want.
Hi @DCinFlorida,
Sorry for the late reply!
Are there clear minimum requirements for Cubasis 3.5 on Android?
The performance of Cubasis for Andorid is strongly related to the device in use. Please find our FAQ article, which also includes information about the system requirements right here:
Hope that helps!
Best,
Lars
Thanks, but that doesn’t address any of these questions. There is nothing in those FAQ about MicroSD cards and what minimum speed is required.
Hello. Sdhc is enough. Try expanding the virtual memory if Samsung allows it on your device. It is worth thinking in the same way as Apple in the case of Android. So to buy devices equipped with hardware included in flagships above snapdragon 8××. I have a samsung s20 proyectem 70% and there are visual problems. Regardless, the Samsung 20 (855/exynos990) is suitable for work. Discard Huawei jokes quickly It is not possible to test all android devices.
Hi
I’m having several problems creating mixdowns.
Firstly, if I solo some tracks then create a mixdown with the ‘Create separate files for tracks’ option selected, I expect that it would only create tracks for soloed / unmuted tracks. However it creates tracks for all tracks instead.
Secondly, exporting a group track using ‘Create separate files for tracks’ does not function as expected, and the mixdown for the group track contains tracks outside the group (that are above the group track in the editor).
Thank you. I didn’t want to plunk down a lot of money for a V90 Video Speed card unless it was absolutely necessary. I think Steinberg should be including this information, since the Android devices allow you to move Cubasis completely from internal storage to the MicroSD card and run it from there.
Moving apps to the SD card might give you not results you might expect since that feature hasnt been good since android 5/6.
It breaks certain functions of apps [depending on the programming i guess].
Unless your device is rooted and you have the right apps/modules that handle running apps from sd cards i wouldnt recommend it.
Basically android device manufacturers dont want you to run apps from sd cards but want you to buy their devices with higher default internal memory so they have all build in limitations.
The read/write speed of sd cards isnt much of an issue, i think a samsung evo/evo+ could easily handle any live action app for that matter.
Hi @belldu, Hi @DCinFlorida,
Please take a look at the MediaBay chapter of the Cubasis in-app help to learn more:
https://download.steinberg.net/downloads_software/Cubasis/Cubasis_3_Web_Help/MEDIA.html
Hope that helps!
Stay safe,
Lars
It explains how it should work, but unfortunately doesn’t explain why it does not work
My issue is that if I ‘Create separate files for tracks’ in the mixdown then the group track contains the wrong tracks!
I was also expecting it to ignore muted tracks but it exported them too.

Hi @belldu,
The issue is planned to be resolved in a future Cubasis update. As a workaround: Manually solo the group track then mixdown without the “Create separate files for tracks” option.
Thanks,
Lars
Deleted my post since the update to 3.5.1 just fixed it.

Ok, thanks, so can you confirm that you can replicate this and don’t need a sample project from me. Had a rough time in New Zealand recently, am only just coming back online, and have a bunch of stuff to catch up on!
