The tempo track is great!
Thank you very much.
But it’s sad that it doesn’t load tempo changes from imported midi.
Brilliant update - well done all.! At last, tempo/time sig tracks…
Otherwise, demoed here using the new Iconica Sketch, there are still some notable ‘limitations’ outlined in this video review from Lanewood Studios, that hamper smooth workflow back and forth between Cubasis and Cubase…
And yes, I’ve read the dedicated Importer info article here… just a shame things haven’t moved on - even a little - since it was posted…
About the Cubasis Importer - Cubasis - Steinberg Forums
I think this update messed up the audio export a bit as it’s chopping off the beginning of the render even after moving the audio in the track a bit further up from the marker … it’s ignoring the left marker and looking for audio to render instead … I’ll try on a different device and let you know
Have you tried put an extra track with an empty event on it overlapping the moved audio?
Maybe it compensates the late offset…
Dunno… just throwing an idea out there…
(Are you sure the song measurement is set to bars and not time?)
[Once again, throwing some random ideas out, maybe something sticks]
Hi @Septimo
Please provide us with a short clip that shows the exact steps leading to the problem. Here, it would be of great help to create a simple project, to allow us reproducing and evaluate the problem quickly. In addition a short info about your environment would be appreciated (Cubasis version, OS version, Device info).
Thanks
Lars
I got the announcement of the Ionica Sketsch app for iPhone and iPad in my mailbox and I was a bit disappointed that there was no mention of Android. So I thought well, this may be implemented for Android later, maybe.
A few days later after reading up in the Cubasis section of this forum, I stumbled upon a small by-line in the bottom of the announcement, saying:
*Iconica Sketch is also available via Cubasis for Android in-app purchase
I went to the in app shop and to my pleasant surprise there it was: the whole Iconica Sketch instrument available for Android. Of course I bought this gem that I already own in the full version for Halion on Cubase.
What keeps puzzling me however is this Steinberg marketing. Was the fact that Iconica Sketch is avaible for Cubasis on Android so much less important than the stand alone app for iPhone and iPad, that you completely obfuscated this information in the announcement email? The fact that this happens again in the forum announcement makes me wonder even more.
Anyway, I may be one of the happy few Cubasis for Android users that eventually managed to find this well hidden Christmas Easter Egg and purchased Iconica Sketch with 25% discount. Thank you for that, Steinberg!
You’re right… i saw the forum post the minute it got dropped and also initially thought it was ios only, especially because they mentioned thestand alone and auv versions… it was not even clear there would be an inapp version(that could be purchased seperately).
After upgrading… (10 mins later) i checked the inapp store because of the discount badges and saw iconica was listed but because the discount badge had another color (kinda grey’d out) like the other ones, it still wasnt clear if it was purchasable or competible. The dimmer discount badge rendered the idea it couldnt to be honest.
Kinda a weird experience… i was later that i saw the small by line about android (after i already bought it) and it kinda felt like they didnt want us on android to actually buy it
I share the sentiment that it wasnt the greatest marketing strategy for android users.
Hi @CJ_Monster
Kinda a weird experience…
Normally (on Android), you should have noticed an “Iconica Sketch” visual in the Hub, leading you to the App Store once tapping on it.
Please share more details with us regarding the weird experience, to allow us reviewing this.
and it kinda felt like they didnt want us on android to actually buy it
Iconica Sketch is our first stand-alone app supporting any AU compatible mobile DAW on iPhone/iPad. Since Android does not provide a similar option, releasing Iconica Sketch as an IAP was the only choice.
We apologize, if the communication was misleading.
Best
Lars
Hi @e-rik
Thanks for your message.
Iconica Sketch for iPhone/iPad is our stand alone instrument debut, allowing our users to use the instrument with every AU compatible mobile DAW.
Since Google does not offer similar options to use a mobile DAW with a 3rd party plug-in, Iconica Sketch is offered as a Cubasis for Android IAP instead.
We’ve tried our best including the Android information in the press release and on the New in Cubasis 3.7 and Iconica Sketch websites. In addition, the feature is also mentioned in the Google Play Cubasis 3.7 description.
Nevertheless we are sorry, if the announcement has led to some confusion at your end.
Best,
Lars

I purchased Cubasis for Android. If I acquire an iPad, would I be required to purchase an additional Cubasis license for iOS?
Yes… the license doesnt crossover to other platforms.
Hi @BJ_Dobbs
Thanks for your message.
Cubasis for iOS is distributed through the Apple App Store, Cubasis for Android/Chrome OS is distributed through the Google Play Store. The two stores don’t interrelate and don’t offer any crossgrade options, which means that to own any app on both iOS and Android/Chrome OS, it must be purchased on both stores, unfortunately.
Best,
Lars
Thanks Lars,
That’s unfortunate. I was hoping the marketing model reflected Cubase Win/MacOS interchangeability. I guess that means I would have to buy sound modules all over again if I use an iPad?
This question has probably been asked here before but I’ll just ask it now. Is Qubasis more functional on iOS than on Android? Would it be worth switching to Cubasis on an iPad even if I must buy everything all over again?
Thanks, BJ
Hi BJ,
This question has been asked a number times and the same answer is……without a doubt, Cubasis on iOS is more expensive but you pay for quality, the iPad has always been far superior to Android tablets in respect for DAW’s, it’s a decision you definitely won’t regret
Thanks fixit,
I’ll see whether anyone I know already has it on their iPad. Thanks for responding!
I am having an issue after updating.
When I stretch a track, it sounds fine in the mixer, however, when I either freeze the track or create a mix down, the stretched track gets moved to the beginning of what the track originally was and still is placed where I want it.
When I notice that an instrument is slightly off, previously I have copied that track cut it down to where I wanted the note to start and then stretched. Now the portion that was deleted is what plays for the stretched area. It still is only as long as I made the stretch, but plays the beginning of what the original recording was, Not from where I want it to start.
This has caused songs I’ve been working on to be unusable, even though previously I could mix down in the parts, be in the right spots. I’ve tried altering settings for freezing tracks and for makes downs, nothing has worked. I have also tried duplicating the project to see if that would have different results. I have also tried to do new stretches in different parts of songs just to see how it would turn out, it is still doing the same thing and not working correctly.
