I noticed this issue with the bar numbering in cut away scores where the bar numbers are appearing on top of barlines for players who are part way down the score. I assume it’s due to having bar numbers displayed above the top staff of the system and that top staff changing after the page starts due to cut away measures. Is there a way to adjust this so that the bar numbers only appear above whichever staff is the top staff at that point on the page?
Are you sure you haven’t just set barlines to show on specific staves? Check Layout Options.
There does seem to be an issue here – cutaway score with bar numbers every bar shown above top staff. And the behavior is different depending on whether staves are coming or going.
Here the second staff becomes the top staff in bar 62, but it also gains a bar number for bar 61 (and every previous bar on that system, not shown in this image). On the next page, that staff doesn’t get a bar number for 64 even though it’s the top staff at that point. And no staff has a bar number for 68.

No response? It seems pretty buggy to me, but maybe I’m doing something wrong in the set up of the function? Please advise.
big problem here also with cut away bar numbering.
I chose:
- every bar
- show BELOW buttom staff
no bar numbers at all shown anymore if you use cut away for your lowest staff (in this case double-bass)…..that’s not good at all for the conductor
IMHO the bar number should appear below ‘Vln 1 Solo’ which in this case is the buttom staff.
Here in the pre-last bar it seems to work: buttom staff is the viola and a bar number appears.
Why not the bars before below ‘Vln 1 Solo’?
