Dorico 4.3 keeps crashing

OK. Is the keyboard powered with its own power supply, or does it draw power directly via USB?

Without own power supply.

The problem was there before this keyboard, and before the new hub.

Just had a new crash, the diagnostic report is too big to attach.

I’ve had a look again at the logs and you have these MIDI output ports:

The interesting part is, that the last one in that list appears to go away for a short moment and then reappears again. This then triggers the callback mechanism in Dorico and leads to the crash.
I don’t know Komplete and it’s ports. How is it connected and how do you think could it might happen that that port disappears and reappears shortly after?

Could you please unpack the diagnostics report and post the subfolders seaparately (as zip)? Thanks

It is connected with USB 3.0 directly to the computer.

Activation Manager.zip (118.3 KB)

AudioEngine.zip (3.5 MB)

Crashes.zip (37.4 KB)

Dorico.zip (379.0 KB)

Do you have another USB port on your computer where you could plug-in the Komplete instead? Or swap with another one?

I’ll try.

Thanks again for the new data. This time always all 14 MIDI devices were recognized, but still the same thing, something is frequently triggering the enumeration process, as if there is a spark on the wire that causes a short disruption.

I changed the USB port. Quite many days without a problem, now again a crash.

Unfortunately no crash logs are included amongst these various zip files you have attached. Did you manually disassemble the diagnostic report zip file? If so, please send the original zip file rather than its constituent parts. If it’s too big to attach here, please email it to me at d dot spreadbury at steinberg dot de.

Thanks Daniel! I sent a mail, hope it is correct.

Yes, thanks – unfortunately, no crash logs in there, either. Did Dorico itself crash in the same way as before? What was happening immediately before it crashed?

Hi @JarkkoR , from the logs it looks like the app was hanging during automatic saving, but there is no crash file, neither of the audio engine nor from Dorico itself. Did you kill the app then by yourself?

Also, this one must be a different issue to the one you had before. Because now I don’t see those MIDI Device Changed messages in the logs anymore.

I was working normally when it crashed. Of course not sure it was soomething else…what could the other options be? I read that Apollo Twin X (which I use) can cause a trouble. Could it be that the interface is broken?

But was it really crashing or just hanging (not responding anymore)?
