The playback shortcut for “Play from the start of the flow” (Shift + Alt + Spacebar) has stopped working . All other playback shortcuts seem to be working just fine. Any tips?
One of the pieces I’m working on isn’t reading pedaling indications correctly. For the first half of the piece the sustain pedal works properly, and then after a repeat symbol, sometimes notes don’t sustain when marked, and other times where it sustains without a pedal marking.
Thanks so much, @Estigy. The weird thing is that the sustain pedal issues aren’t related to playing over a repeat sign. They’re simply happening after the repeat sign. The link was helpful - I added some CC64 automation which was a helpful workaround.
Just curious as to why this is happening in the first place!
Thanks so much, Daniel. Your response is such a help.
I just looked at key commands at Preferences though, and the key command for play from the start of the flow is still Shift+Alt+Space. Though in the document itself, that key command activates the scrub playback, as you describe.
Also, the manual for Dorico 5 has both operations (play from the beginning and scrub playback for individual instruments) activated by the Shift+Alt+Space key command. Not sure if this is an error in the manual or in my reading of the manual.
Was there a new default that the team had in mind for playing from the beginning of the flow, or is just up to the user to set?
If you can cut the project down to just a short chunk that exhibits the problem and attach it here, that would be ideal. If you find that the problem doesn’t occur once you’ve cut the project down and you’re either unwilling or unable to attach the project to this thread, you can send it to me via a private message on the forum. Please be specific about where I need to look/listen in the project to reproduce the problem.
