Cubase 13 Disk Cache goes crazy

Can we please get some help from someone? Working with audio is a fundamental part of the DAW and now it’s rendered practically unusable

For the first time ever since I am running Cubase on a decent DAW System (PC), even with spinning disks, I saw today the performance indicator for “Disk Cache” loading up almost to max! And hey, I have super fast M2_SSDs only today! What’s that? Disk Cache Spikes + popping in Cubase

Hi all I’ve been having an issue with Disk Cache spikes/overloads causing pops when moving the play position the locater bar and I’m at a total loss how to fix it. The issue is present in even the most basic projects, even if there are no audio or midi events and my PC is high spec and runs perfectly otherwise, including running huge CB projects with zero issues other than this. Disk Cache spike when start, stop and clicking on loop bar

So I’m not sure how long this has been an issue but I feel like it started around when I got Cubase 12 maybe a little earlier but I have no idea where to start to fix this. Every time I play, stop or click and drag on the loop bar the disk cache will immediately spike and also cause a drop out of audio for a few seconds. Disk cache overload and bad ssd

I have a couple of SSD (internal) drives, and my projects are all on one of the drives. I have a project with a lot of audio tracks and it maxes our the disc cache (like 100% instantly right when I hit play). I backed up the project to the other SSD and it runs just fine (disc cache about 1-5%). (side note: I also tried backing up the project on the problematic drive in a different location, but it didn’t help). Does this prove I need to replace the first SSD, or could there be another reason …

Curious problem, project works in certain situations

I’m trying to diagnose a problem and wondering your opinion… My Cubase Disk Cache meter is maxing out instantly when playing a moderate amount of tracks in a project on my internal SSD C: drive (running Windows 10). Also, the task task manager shows the C drive maxed out completely. I assume the maxed out task manager C drive is the issue.
