I had this problem for quite a while.
I didn’t understand it in the beginning as I didn’t notice it said e-licenser , I just thought it was an internet problem with the new license system.
So when I finally took the time to read the error message all I had to do was uninstall the e-licenser software and no more problems.
NEW PROBLEM: Steinberg forces you to install this software every time you install any of their software or new software from them.
so I have been running fine for a while, I noticed there was a new Spectralyers update. BOOM - the problem is of course back. I was thinking how bad could it be.
I started working as normal. Every time I open Groove Agent - error message. Every time I open Halion 7 - error message.
Then just to top it off, today Cubase wouldn’t even start as it was hanging when scanning VST Connect Pro.
I had to uninstall VST Connect pro and e-licenser to get back up and running.
Back to normal, everything starting and running without this annoying pop up, even when loading up a new track of Groove Agent or Halion.
Open the download assistant, Steinberg force install e-licenser - error messages back - but at least Cubase started.
So Steinberg - YOU said it is over - e-licenser is closing down yet you insist on running your old copy protection schemes on my computer.
I guess this happens because I have unplugged my dongle now? yet all the software I did run on this copy scheme still wants to run on the e-licenser? Is this why Halion is so slow to start now? Because of multiple copy protection schemes?
You are the ones moving on from e-licenser, let us do so as well. Yikes this is annoying the crap out of me. If I want to run Cubase 11 or Absolute old versions I promise I will just find the download link myself for e-licenser and don’t bother your support team.
