So, it seems there is a huge issue with batch exporting/Mixdown exporting
in Standalone version of Spectralayers 11 (latest version).
The exported wav files which have same properties (96Khz 24bit) are unfortunately longer than their original counterpart.
This occurs in batch exporting, Layer exporting ( regardless of setting ) or Export Mixdown .
I attached a picture to show the difference in length. It seems Spectralayers adds a specific portion to the beginning of a file making it longer that the original one.
Has anyone experienced the same issue?

At least on my side everything seems to work fine, Windows 11 Pro SpectraLayers Pro 11.0.60. Judging from a quick test also with a 96kHz/24bit WAV source file all exports (batch, layers and mixdown) have the same file size and length as the source.
What modules are you using? Possibly any VST-plugins? What does the project look like before the export - any noticeable time shifts after any processing?

Hmm, thats strange. So the only module I’m using is the De-Noise module. No Vst plugins or something else. I’m on Win 10 Pro.
The timeshift ist after the export due to the wrong file length as in the attached picture in my first post.
If I open a new Nuendo (N12) project set at 96Khz 24 bit and 120bpm
it seems that Spectralayers adds half of a bar. If I go and shorten by a half bar and move the shortened file to the beginning of the first bar and play both files together it seems fine.
But I wonder why this happens at all. It should not.
P.s thanks for testing on your side.

I’m using SL11 in standalone
bouncing a comp out of my DAW (SAWStudio)
then import those bounces into SL; edit and then export mixdowns
then bring the SL11 edited files back into my SAW job
my job is one film; the audio is sync’d to picture and the original audio is still in the job and lip sync is solid; I find no drift in the SL audio at all
granted, I’m not doing the entire film; just mostly 5 min sections;
one thing I know for certain is nothing is being added to the front of the SL exports or I would have been complaining it this since I purchased SL11 last June
this job is 48/24
thank you for chiming in and testing.
Today I tried it again after restarting my PC but unfortunately the result is the same.
I hope @Robin_Lobel can chime in on this , and help out.

I should maybe say I’m still on 11.0.40 build 395
Oh thanks for the info.
Well, I had this problem with version 11.0.20 so I updated to 11.0.60 but the problem still persists.

@Przemek_K After applying De-Noise to the file, and then using File>Export Mixdown and exporting at the same bit rate (24-bit) as the original and then opening the file you have just exported into the standalone SpectraLayers 11.0.60 - do you still see the extra time added to the file?

So, in Spectralayers the denoised file seem to have the same length as the original file, yet in Nuendo 12.0.70 the denoised file is longer than the original one. Both files are 96 Khz and 24Bit.

Now I tried Nuendo 11, but same result. Out of curiosity I opened Reasonstudio 12 and did load both files (original and denoised ) and there it seems ok.
So, either Spectralayers renders something into the denoised file which makes Nuendo think the file should be longer (in laymans terms I guess)
Or Nuendo has a bug with reading exported files from Spectralayers correctly.

So this may be a Nuendo problem, and not a SpectraLayers problem. TBH it is probably neither. It’s almost certainly some parameter or setting or workflow quirk which is being overlooked.
I’d suggest there is an unforseen setting in Nuendo which is causing the length difference between the two events.
Try the following in Nuendo: activate the infoline and click on the original event and then the denoised file. As you do this, observe the Musical Mode parameter. My guess is that one of these events may have ‘Musical Mode’ active.

Yeah, could be a Nuendo problem, in fact I went so far as even try those 2 files in Cubase 10, and same result.
Musical mode is not active.

What is the precise method you use to import the two files into Nuendo?
Please post two screenshots showing the infoline when each event is selected in Nuendo.
Or better, please upload the original and denoised files so others can test.

The importing method does not matter, I tried per drag’n’drop or import audio. Same result.
Here are some additional pictures.
Also in the picture from the Audiopool Window you can see that the length seem to be the same on both files, yet, strangely there is this mismatch in length in the project window.
Your screenshots do not show the relevant information. Please post a screenshot with Musical mode shown and all other parameters showing on the infoline for each event.

I have no further ideas as to how you have arrived at this result. In tests here I can find no issues with file lengths either in SpectraLayers or in Nuendo 12. Are you using the latest version of Nuendo 12?

I use Nuendo 12.0.70 Build 464. which is to my understanding the latest version.
Thank you for all the help so far.
I hope that @Robin_Lobel can chime in and hopefully shed some light on this.
I doubt Robin would be able to help. I think you have proved yourself that the denoised file is successfully imported back into SpectraLayers with the correct length and similar in Reason Studio 12. In addition, the test files show the same duration within Nuendo itself according to your screenshot. Therefore the issue does not reside in SpectraLayers. This is probably an event based issue within your Nuendo project.
One more test: start with a new empty project in Nuendo and re-import the files within that new project.
If you still suffer the issue try posting on the Nuendo part of the forum instead. This is probably not a SpectraLayers issue.
The two files in this examples have been opened in a completely fresh and new Nuendo project…I’m at a loss here. Maybe you are right and its a event based issue.
I will try later on my other workstation and see how it goes there.
