I think this may be a bug of some sort (video):

I’ve already checked this and using the caret to position the fermata on the second note of a tied chain doesn’t work.
All I’m doing is moving the fermata right in Write Mode: you can see that, as soon as the fermata reaches the beginning of the second note, it disappears, also influencing the beams (?!). Then, it reappears on the following note.
Any idea what may be happening here?
I can solve it with a playing technique, of course, but, perhaps there is a deeper issue?
Ciao @MicheleGalvagno, this has to do with the Breath Mark attached to the second note of the tie chain (conflict between Breath Mark and Fermata at the same exact rhythmic position*, when you move the Fermata there) .
If you first move the Breath Mark attachment just one eight note (or even less) to the right (so it will not be “sharing” the same rhythmic position with the Fermata on the dotted half note), then you will see that you can move the Fermata without it disappearing:
(*) This was discussed in several threads.

Nice!
I would’ve expected the comma to disappear, in this case. If we move notation right, it normally eats what comes after it, so it is still a strange behaviour.
Glad it is simple to solve, thank you!
PS: Sadly, I often have difficulty finding what I need in other threads. Perhaps there is a secret recipe in writing titles, since if the search doesn’t match that… no luck!
You are welcome, @MicheleGalvagno.
In case it could be helpful, in this case I searched for fermata breath mark #dorico
So generally it is good advice to search simple terms.

This would assume that one would know the issue being the breath mark, though
