Filter tool issue/feature request

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on an orchestral score and frequently need to use the filter function. It would be really helpful if the right-click dialog could stay open after I click it once.

For example, when I switch from selecting to deselecting, I have to right-click again each time I want to deselect something. If I have multiple items to deselect, I have to repeat this process repeatedly.

Is there a way to avoid this?

You can’t keep a menu open after choosing an item from it, no. But try using the jump bar: you can set either Select Only or Deselect Only via the jump bar.

I think the issue still stand…

it feels very inefficient to repeatedly right-click to deselect multiple categories individually, especially as the number of categories increases, the number of required right-clicks to bring up the dialog increases each time.

I would love to see a feature that allows us to set all desired selections or deselections at once and apply them in a single action.

Love everyone’s work in dorico!

Yes, you should. For example, here’s a scripting solution that addresses exactly these kind of problems: Use Advanced Filtering in your Workflow with a Lua Library for ConsoleTools

And a simpler idea: I assigned keyboard shortcuts to “Deselect Only”, “Select Only” and various filters that I use often.
