Thanks @wolfger , I had missed that when searching before posting! As noted over there, I think the new behaviour is illogical.

If you want to see content of closed group folders you should find in preferences function and change behaviour.

As a workaround, I created a preset for the Project Logical Editor that can also be assigned a keyboard shortcut. Just copy the preset to your user preset folder. You can find the correct folder using the Project Logical Editor’s preset search. C:\Dokumente\Steinberg\Cubase\User Presets\Project Log…

I have, I think. If you select “Show Automation” in there, all the other options for Group Folders are greyed out and you lose sight of the tracks in the Project Window. So now I have it. So: having folders expand and collapsing in the mixer pane is really nice. I do miss my subgroups at the rig…
