Freeze edit window despite cursor

Hello,
Im convinced that this likely has been answered, but im having trouble defining the problem.

I need to be able to zoom into the midi/instrument editor window to a specific part of the track im working on,
Then hit play from the start (Locator 1), and the window doesnt move. eventually the playing cursor will scroll across the area im looking at, but the part im looking at doesnt move, only the cursor scrolls across.
Is this possible? its doing my head in lol
Thank you muchly in advance,
HT

I have looked through the operation guide and located the cursor scroll controls, but, none of the options do what im asking(if possible)

Making sure Auto-Scroll is turned off (dark) works for me.

hello @Googly_Smythe , thank you for your reply,
i just tried that, if i am zoomed in , whether i select a marker from the number pad, or, just hit play, the focus still shifts imediately to the played part and follows the marker from there, i still cant remain with my selected midi/instrument in front of me, without it changing to the playing marker

That’s odd. I tested it before posting to make sure.
I’m going to have to hand it over to the knowledgeable types.
Sorry.

just to be clear, with reference to the screencap here, im talking that the bottom window changes to the current cursor, not the top one, thanks

@Googly_Smythe Never mind, Im being a noob!! i was selecting the one you suggested for the top window, not the bottom one LOL, sorry, i literally migrated from SX3 up to v13, just getting used to it still having two horizontal windows lol , Thank U !!!

That’s quite a jump!

Yep, decided i needed some more modern plugin packs but nobody supports XP anymore… good innings though, was a dedicated Q9550 Quad core built in 2008…
