I am working with a 2 monitor setup and have 2 instances of Guitar Rig 7 open. As soon as I minimize the main window after a few minutes, Cubase freezes completely. I can still see the 2nd monitor with the mixer and the two guitar rigs. If Guitar Rigs 7 is closed, this does not happen.
Seems to be something graphical. I work with an I7 13700k and have never had such a problem (Cubase 13pro).
Found that: Tips: Graphics problems with Guitar Rig 7 — Community
it discribes grahical issues and suggest a solution by OpenGl which doesnt work within cubase.
The problem might be the Nahimic Service, please see Cubase 13 - loading Arturia Minifreak V causes freeze - #10 by Fabio_B and Cubase 13 crashing with two instance of pigments - #4 by Fabio_B (there are actually many more threads with issues about that).
Quite often freezes with 2 monitors and OpenGL software can be tracked down to that. Hope it helps.
Thx Fabio, unfortunatly Nahimic Service is not running here. This problem is a code bug where ever. As long as i not touch the main window, everything is ok. at least here…? But, even if it is not the very best place to say: It’s just stupid if you work with several programs (OBS+ Internet+ video chats+ Cubase+ whatever). This should no longer be an issue, it’s part of everyday life for many professionals and artists, but, i love solutions
Then you can use ProcDump in order to see where it hangs, please see the procedure here: Cubase 13 is crashing when opening the MixConsole - #27 by Martin.Jirsak
Note that you don’t actually need to write the version in the command, you can use procdump64 -e -h -t Cubase.
Another suspect is the MIDI system - do you use WinMIDI or have enabled WinRT in Studio Setup?
hi, so i tried procdump and as soon as I hit return in the command, cubase crashes…??? Reading these dmp files is a bit to much for me So I even cant analyse the main problem. I am using not WinRT. I am curious, why can this be an issue?
If you launch it when Cubase hangs, then yes, it will crash straight away and produces a dump.
Please, upload the dump file to any sharing service you use and PM the link, I’ll check it out.
