What is wrong with the ride cymbals in Groove Agent SE, I have to turn the output way up to get any sustain, and then they are way too loud. I have tried everything, something is not working right. Anyone else having this problem?
The samples, or ride cymbals as part of kits? And if so, all the kits or any one in particular?
None of the ride cymbals work as expected, and I have been using Cubase for over 20 years, some don’t sustain unless at very high velocities (then, of course they are too loud), some are barely audible at 80% velocity.
I think a lot of the cymbals don’t have any direct micing. To me I’ve noticed that most are picked up by the overhead mics. And I do agree that I wish they were a little more responsive and had dedicated mics.
This is why God gave us compressors.
GA is my go to, and I only use the Rock kit, despite having bought a few other kits.
Doesn’t the SE come with The Kit? The cymbals there all go through the overheads/room mics. I use Eventide’s Omnipressor. It works a treat.
