I’m working on a collection of short pieces, each of which is in a different Flow, in a language I can’t read. When I’m entering notes and lyrics, I prefer to do it in Gallery view. The problem is that sometimes I hit a wrong key, or when I lift my hand from my mouse I accidentally scroll. There is no indication where I’m at. It would me nice to have an option to GoTo a specific flow, as well as an indication on the screen as to which Flow I’m looking at. In page view I have the Flow Titles that show, but nothing in Gallery view.
Can I select specific Flow to work on, and not show the rest of the Flows?
Hello @scarryer ,
If you want to see only one flow, you can go in “Setup Mode” and in the properties panel (cmd + 8) you can deselect the flows you are not working on to hide them from the project, and show them again once you finished.
About the GoTo Option, just press cmd + G to select which bar of which flow you want to go to .
Another good trick is to hit the letter p twice. If you had anything selected beforehand it will bring you to that spot.
You can also familiarise yourself with the Jump Bar. You activate it by pressing j followed by some letters and the enter
key.
Example:
“j” “f3” “enter” will bring you to flow 3 (if the “Go to” label has been chosen).
Using cmd 8 shows and hides the Flows “panel”. How do I “deselect” specific Flows so they don’t show? I can’t find it anywhere.
Hi, it’s a matter of clicking into the corner (where you can place a tick)
You can build connections between Players (left panel), Flows (bottom panel) and Layouts (right panel).
show/hide Left panel: cmd+7
show/hide Bottom panel: cmd+8
show/hide Right panel: cmd+9
If you are on Windows, use ctrl instead of cmd.
Hi @scarryer,
Adding on on the useful suggestions above:
Flows has Names and Titles. If the Names are as default, they are named Flow 1, Flow 2 etc…, (ore “something” numbered, in another language) and you see this information on the up of the Dorico window, when something is selected on that flow:
I tried in Japanese (now let’s see if I manage to set Dorico back into English…)
You would choose the Layout first (right panel) then tick or untick the flows you want to see in that layout.
You can setup a new layout just for working on your project - and delete it at a later stage.
Thanks. That clarifies it.
