Grace Period Update to Cubase 12

When running the grace period check I’ve been receiving “No Licenses Found”. I’ve run maintenance multiple times. I purchased my version 11 upgrade on 11/25/21. The response from support was to try again in a few hours. I’ve been trying this for 3 days now. Is there anything that can be done to fix this?

Sorry if you’ve answered this question before (I’ve been talking to a lot of people recently), but what happens if you open Steinberg Activation Manager and run the “Grace Period Check”?

Hello @Ben_at_Steinberg

I did every step correctly/successfully from the first try. Even the maintenance task was pretty quick and without errors. I did that the first day of release. The usb licenser and my account promptly shown “Cubase 11 PRO grace period eligible”. I then followed the last step on the activation manager - grace period check. Every time I get “no licenses found”. The first day the task completed very fast, the other days you wait a bit but the result is the same. No errors, just the message which does not reflect the license on the account. Did a reinstall of the activation manager, logged in again etc. Restart. I thought the server needs just a little time to sync but it’s a few days already. Any advice? Thanks!

Ok guys. I am also receiving the ‘no License available’ when I check the grace period within the Steinberg License Activation Manager. I purchased and activated Cubase Pro 11 in Jan 2022 so should be eligible.

I have updated the e-Licenser, restarted my machine (Apple MacBook M1 Pro) and tried again - carried out maintenance on e-Licenser, opened Steinberg License Activation Manager, clicked Grace period - still same message!

I have tried at various times all day today with no luck. I understand busy servers, etc but - when i completed the e-Licenser maintenance - it completes the maintenance but never shows Cubase Pro 11 as Upgradable (or whatever it should say)!

This is the 2nd serious software issue i have had with Steinberg in the past month and the only way i could get any help from Steinberg (4 support tickets later) was to call them in the 2 hour window they are open for calls! Even then, i had 3 weeks of emails back-and-forth to finally be told that the software i was missing (Halion Symphonic Orchestra( has been discontinued and is no longer available (Cubase 11 and above i believe) - it took 3 weeks of emails saying “uninstall this…” and “reinstall that”… to find this out!!

Your support service is non-existent and you should be ashamed of taking my (anyone’s) money when you don’t ever respond to support tickets!!!

GET A GRIP AND SERVICE YOUR CUSTOMER BASE - we pay for your product after all!!! I have paid for something but have not received it - if this was Amazon, i’d have a replacement or a refund by tomorrow!! Say what you want about Amazon - but they have a great customer service ethos - Steinberg do not!

I’ve passed your case onto one of my colleagues for investigation as this should be working.

Hi @Brianm10

I’m sorry to hear that this isn’t working for you. The load on the eLicenser servers is decreasing now so we’re seeing more and more people able to complete the grace period process. I’m not quite sure why your licenses aren’t converting - do you have more than one Cubase Pro 11 license?

I can personally vouch for the fact that our technical support team work very hard and are extremely passionate about solving every customer issue. There are some times when the number of tickets is very high (around launches) and we hope that once we’re passed this transition that the issues caused by licensing will abate somewhat.

Again, I can only apologise for the frustration and will try and help you as best we can.

Thank you very much for the quick response! Yeah, at first I thought I should be patient but later I was thinking maybe it’s an account related error. I will wait for an email response. Thanks!

The Steinberg Activation Center just says “No Licenses Found”, which is incorrect. I have been Using Cubase for close to a decade now. I started with Cubase 7 Artist and have upgraded several times. I upgraded from 10.5 Pro to 11 Pro when I saw that when it would become available, I could move to 12 Pro for free.

I forgot to mention that my eLicenser says under “Licenses”, Cupase Pro 11 (Grace Period Eligible).
Hope this helps and thank you for reaching out to me. I appreciate it knowing just how busy you must be at this time.

Thanks Jeremy - I’ll add your case to my little list of people who have got eligible grace period licenses on their eLicenser but seem unable to trigger the grace period process. Bear with us, we’re working on it!

Thanks for your patience!

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly!

Hi, is the traffic problem of server solved now? I still can’t upgrade to cubase 12 since Activation Manager instantly shows “Errors during check for grace period”.

Yesterday - no email, tried again today - no emails anywhere.

Email is correct in My Steinberg

Thanks

Hello, i have upgraded from 10.5 to 11 on 29 november 2021, checked grace period on elcc and steinberg activation manager, nothing happen, “no license found”

Same with me-purchased the update from Elements 10.5 to 11 on the 3rd of February and I checked grace period on elcc and Steinberg activation manager, nothing happens “no license found" as well.

I have an eligible grace period license on my eLicenser, but can’t get a license for C12, because the activation manager can’t be installed on my computer (Mac OSX 10.13). I know that C12 won’t work on my computer, but I need the license, because I want to sell it. What can I do?
