Graphic delay in Nuendo and Cubase

Hi all,

Maybe someone can help.

System:
Intel I9-13900k, processor is tested and good.
m2 drives
96gb memory
Radeon RX7600XT 16gb
Windows 11 latest updates
Amd latest drivers.
No bios tweaking
3 x 28" screens, 3840x2160, 60Hz, DisplayPort 2.1

Using Cubase Pro 13.0.50, Cubase Pro 14.0.5 and Nuendo 13.0.50,
and they all have the same problem with graphic delay in the mixer.

My project setup:
Project window, 86 instrument tracks loaded with Iconica Opus and BBCso.
Mixconsole 1, 30 group tracks for volume editing.
Mixconsole 2, 11 FX tracks for plug-ins

Settings:
edit - preferences - general -
HiDPI enabled
Application scaling -25%

This causes big graphic delay in Cubase and Nuendo.
Even with the standard graphic settings (use system settings) I have problems.
What can cause this? Any help would be welcome!!!
(Ticket to support 667242, no reply).
Thanks in advance Twan

Clearly define “graphic delay” for us…

It could be a non compatible third party plugin .
Try running with all the plugins disabled.
Try deleting the preferences
Try Reinstalling Nuendo

I have a very similar setup to you except I have a GTX 2080 video card. I have not experienced any delays you are mentioning.

hi Graveley,
What I mean is that the graphics in the mixer slowly start freezing.
Even the start/stop button takes 3 seconds to react.

I use a few steinberg plugins, no preference, reinstalled nuendo several times.

I tried everything:
Checked my monitors, new graphic card, tried different audio devices,
all amd options, clean install windows 10 and windows 11, only windows drivers, etc. i’m at a point I don’t know anymore.

My project setup:
Project window, 86 instrument tracks loaded with Iconica Opus and BBCso.
Mixconsole 1, 30 group tracks for volume editing.
Mixconsole 2, 11 FX tracks for plug-ins

What I noticed when I start the project it has a few instruments and there is no problem, slowly more and more instruments are coming in and than the problems begin.

Maybe unload your 86 (!) virtual instruments and see if the problem goes away??

I had to kill the timpani, trumpets, horns and bassoons and after that the problem was gone (from 86 to 60). But this can’t be the solution. Is that amount of instrument tracks a problem?

Maybe @Martin.Jirsak can give his comment?

What’s your audio interface and buffer settings?

Steinberg MR816CSX, but sound is not the problem, no stutter at all.

Hi Twan,

Thank you for your trust! But I’m not Windows expert at all. Therefore I pass over to @Fabio_B, who is really THE expert.

Thanks Martin

while you’re waiting for Fabio, try raising the buffers to 2048 to see if graphics performance is affected? But it may just be those particular VSTi’s

Hi Gravely,
I did but no luck, thanks!

Hello @TwanV would you please send me your System Information (NFO file) and the project without data (the .cpr file alone, without media/audio) via PM?
Zip archives should be fine, but you can also upload to a cloud service and send me the link in case of size issues.
Thank you!

Hi Fabio, thanks for your reply.
I just removed the fw pcie card from my system and making a clean Windows 11 install without the FireWire drivers and mr816csx drivers. I will start with just internal audio. I let you know what happens. Of the problem is still there I Will come back to you.
