Halion library icons with generic user graphic

After installing the Cubase 15 and MediaBay updates offered today, Halion 7 shows several libraries with an icon titled “User” instead of the appropriate icon. I searched the forum; one person using a Mac renamed their media bay database and relaunch Halion. I tried this and it did not work, perhaps because I’m using Windows. All of my Steinberg apps the latest versions and up to date. I’ve attached a screen shot below. Thanks for any suggestions. -Al

This worked in GA

Hi Al_Eriksson,

Please initialize the program preferences by performing these steps:

- Close all programs.

- Open the ‘Run’ command prompt and press the Windows logo key + R simultaneously.

- In the command line of the ‘Run’ window, enter this path: %appdata%/Steinberg

- Locate the folder which is named the same as your Steinberg program, for example ‘Cubase 13_64’. In your case, you need to rename all HALion-folders.

- Rename it (for example to “x_Cubase 13_64”) in order to hide it.

- Important: If you find folders of previous program versions, make sure to hide or remove them too.

Next time you start the program, a new folder with fresh preferences and default settings will be created - which hopefully fixes the problem you’ve experienced.

Cheers,
Jan

Hi Jan_Riesener and Easto -

Thanks for assisting me! Renaming the appropriate folders in my Windows Roaming profile worked.

And thanks for letting me know this applies to other Steinberg components as well.
