Help! Can't uninstall Cubase 10 on PC (Win 10)

Hello guys,

I have a peculiar problem.

My PC (Windows 10, 64 bit) still has Cubase 10 installed (even though I have a more current version installed as well with which I am working) and I cannot uninstall it.

When I try to do it via the Windows “Apps” settings, I always get the error message that “the feature that you want to use is on a CD-Rom or removable disk”, even though I never used a disc back then (it was an upgrade from Cubase 9.5, which back then I bought via retail, long time ago - I still have that box for instance).

I know, it’s a bit complicated, but long story short, I would like to uninstall that Cubase 10 software without it affecting my Cubase 11.

Funnily enough, via the Steinberg Download Manager I see Cubase 11 (I just never got around to install my upgrade to 13 yet), but nothing in regards to 10.

Thanks a lot in advance.

PS: I might install Cubase 13 eventually, but so far I never really had a reason to, as my 11 worked just fine…

Install Cubase 10 once again, then uninstall it.

I was hoping to avoid that, I don’t even have the installation files for it anymore.

Like I said, the Steinberg Download Manager only starts with Cubase 11 :-/

The worst case scenario would be that I uninstall 11, delete everything from 10 and then reinstall the newer version, but I am a bit hesitant about that, as I’d want to avoid screwing something up with the VST’s or Plugins…

You can download the installer for Cubase 10 here. Make sure you install the correct version, there are 10 and 10.5, as well as different tiers.
Re-installing Cubase 10 is just necessary to restore the uninstall files and registry entries which are obviously lost. Once this is done, you can uninstall Cubase 10. This will not harm your current installations of newer versions or even VST plugins, since all versions of Cubase as well as VST plugins are in separate folders.

Note: As Cubase 10 is a discontinued version, it no longer appears in the Download Manager.

Ok, a new error now happened!

I have Cubase Pro 10.0.40 Build 284 - Build on August 22 2019

installed, and now downloaded the installer for 10.0.60 (the only one available via the link you provided me).

Now when I tried to install it, I get this error message:

Error Code: 1612
Installation of Cubase 10.0.60 Update failed.
Die Installationsquelle für dieses Produkt ist nicht verfügbar. Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Quelle vorhanden ist und Sie Zugriff darauf haben.

I am a bit puzzled by this to say the least.
Would you have a suggestion?

PS: I just found this, maybe this will work?

OK, I could solve it!

Using Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed - Microsoft Support I could finally uninstall the Cubase 10 version.

Again, thank you so much, @ASM for your help!
