We all love our VST effects and VST instruments. Cubase pro 15 alone provides more than 115 stock plugins (audio effects and instruments combined), quite a few of which are not just functional but truly excellent in terms of sonic quality and versatility. Then we have third party VST plugins, many …

I tend to avoid them because there is no guarantee that they will be present in the next version of Cubase. Prologue (I know it’s a synth, but it’s still a VST plugin) is a good example.

Ooooh that one never occured to me LOL. Third party stuff can disappear just as easy, but I suppose as long as whatever authorization methods it uses still function, and it runs on your OS, you can always keep them around and use them like many still do with their VST2s.. Now I wonder what will hap…

So, it’s not possible to use a once installed VST with the next version of Cubase?

Sonic! I do have full HALion, but still use Sonic quite a bit as well. Groove Agent SE. Again I have the full version, but if I’m collaborating with somebody who doesn’t have it, I set things up with SE. All of the EQs get use from me, plus the ones built into the mixer, and Frequency 2 is my favo…

The ping-pong delay and flanger are great, I haven’t used Reverence for a while but it’s really good too. Also Brick wall limiter is always on my control room so I don’t blow my speakers. I really like underwater and the shimmer effects, and the dual filter is great for sweeps. It would be nice to…

In the past Steinberg delivered some 3rd party plugins as part of the Cubase package. Sooner or later all these plugins would run into issues (technical or licensi…

maybe off topic but am I the only one missing something like a simple stock panner? for offline processing I should not need to install a 3rd party for something that simple

[image] Johnny_Moneto: In the past Steinberg delivered some 3rd party plugins But how does one know it’s a 3rd party plugin? There was no way to tell that Prologue was a 3rd party instrument, not even in the Help pages, nor that it would one day be discontinued. And there are FX and instrum…

How many stock VST Plugins do you actually use in Cubase

Some have got them to work by copy files from an older install to the new. There are some threads on this forum about it.
