Hi
I’m on mac and use a MX Master 3S mouse and the only way I can scroll left/right in Mixer view is by click/hold the small line in the bottom of the window. In every other app it works as expected: Holding shift and dial the mouse wheel.
But not here! Can you help me?
I use, on a PC, SHIFT mouse wheel. I’m not sure what it is on MAC.
Well it doesn’t work here. I think it has been an issue for quite some years.
Thanks you for your interest!
Horizontal scrolling in the mix console, especially in the lower zone console, is broken.
Here’s a thread about this problem:
I use Mx Master 3S and scroll Mix console left/right with side wheel on mouse - works perfect and doesn’t screw faders levels.
Can you help being more specific about how you set it up?
In Logi Options+ just configured the side wheel for horizontal scrolling and set direction of scrolling - for reverse. Works beautiful. However I’m on PC. Not sure if the same is on Mac.
Whats most important it doesn’t mess up the fader levels - like scrolling with upper mouse wheel. Great solution for me.
Or perhaps you are referring lower zone mix console view - in this case indeed scrolling is broken. What I wrote refers to the main Mix Console view.
Are you using C14 in that video? If so, they at least fixed the bug in the mix console window in C14.
But that’s bad news that they failed to fix it in the lower zone console, which is what I usually use. Why would they fix it in one place, but not the other?
Yes, C14. But keep in mind that for horizontal scrolling I’m using MX Master 3S mouse side wheel - which works great in that case. The upper (main) mouse wheel is still messing up the faders levels when you try to scroll it when being on fader - but in general when you start scrolling when the arrow isn’t on fader - scrolling with main mouse wheel works also ok.
Still I prefer to use my side wheel for this purpose.
But you’re saying it’s still broken in the lower zone console, right?
Yes. In lower zone mixer view - scrolling with mouse doesn’t work at all - even with Shift pressed. Nor my side wheel works.
Well here on mac I can’t get Cubase to scroll left/right in the mixer with my MX Master 3S although the mouse is configured for scrolling left/right!!
Can anyone here on this forum confirm that scrolling left/right with this mouse; MX Master 3S on MAC works???
See the post above yours. Starnaf has confirmed this bug is still present in C14.
My MX Master 3 works beautifully with its own horizontal scroll wheel right by the thumb…
You can scroll the Cubase lower zone mix console horizontally with a mouse scroll wheel? What version of Cubase are you using?
OMG! Please read carefully what I have wrote.

In MAIN MIXER CONSOLE view (F3) scroll with upper (standard) mouse wheel works fine unless you are on fader - then it mess up the fader level, but outside this area scrolling with mouse (mouse only) is possible and works. If you have MX Master 3S mouse you can scroll horizontaly in this view with side (thumb) wheel - in that case scrolling works perfect even if you have your pointer on the fader - no issues. I’m on Win 11 - not sure how it works on Mac.

In LOWER ZONE MIXER VIEW - scrolling with mouse does not work at all! Its broken.
So - writing about scrolling you must specify about which view you are thinking - the MAIN MIXER VIEW (F3 - separate window) or the LOWER ZONE MIXER view. In first case scrolling with mouse wheel works, in second case scrolling with muse wheel doesn’t work.
When you try to scroll with the main (upper) mouse wheel be sure that you point the right spot on the channel in MAIN MIXER VIEW . See the picture - here are the spots which are ok to point to be able to scroll the view left/right with mouse wheel (upper). So in order to scroll you CANNOT point in the fader area, pan settings area, inserts/sends area, or the name of the channel area. The best spot to point when scrolling is the Read, Write, REC, Monitor area in the bottom of the channel, or the M S L E area on the top.
As I mentioned earlier side (thumb) wheel in my MX Master - works fine no matter where you are pointing. But I’m on Win 11, and this works only in MAIN MIXER WINDOW view.
Yes, that’s the fundamental flaw with Cubase mix console scrolling. There should be a setting to make Cubase work like most other DAWs and disable mouse wheel control over the fader. This would avoid the common problem of accidentally moving the fader. This common sense idea is one of the highest voted feature requests.
When that proposed option is turned on, it should be possible to horizontally scroll the mix console (both the window and lower zone) with the mouse wheel hovering anywhere in the mix console.
Scrolling is one of the most common operations in a DAW, yet Cubase lags behind other DAWs by making it an unnecessarily difficult operation.
