I have a standalone Halion Symphonic Orchestra license on one of my hardware eLicenser. How to upgrade this license to Steinberg Licensing?
Check your My Steinberg account (whichever one your USB eLicenser is registered with). Should be a voucher there. If so, go through the process on your computer with the dongle plugged in, and it should check your USB, touch the key on that, and set up a license in Activation center.
Double check the stuff listed for the account under the old eLicenser section. If you see your dongle registered, and HSO in the list, file a support ticket. Someone at Steinberg should get a voucher on your account then?
If anything is missing that should be there, double check that you don’t have more than one account somehow. If it all seems to be missing, I think the thing to do is start a support ticket and let them know your eLicenser ID. They should be able to track it all down with that. Possibly merge old/lost accounts and whatnot.
Unfortunately when I tried filing a support ticket I always get redirected to a page stating that I should find a local redistributor for help.
This case is far from being handlable by local distributors.
As far as I know, the Steinberg Licensing voucher is only available for the newer Halion Sonic version of Halion Symphonic Orchestra. If you have the older Halion 3 version (which came in 4 DVDs), the voucher wont show up.
In either case, please contact your local distributor.

Mine is the newer Halion Sonic version.
In Mainland China the local distributor is YAMAHA China. I don’t think they are managing the licenses in the Steinberg Licensing System. I purchased the Halion Symphonic Orchestra directly from Steinberg online shop.
Yamaha Canada handles Cubase support in Canada and they’ve been great for just these kinds of things.
Yeah. Unfortunately I already left from Canada in 2018 and my visa is expired. My financial situation can afford me neither a roundtrip to Canada nor applying for a visitor visa.
The last time I contacted YAMAHA Shanghai in a summer in 2016~2017 regarding an issue with Steinberg Download Assistant, the guy in the phone repeatedly order me to “Do what Germans ask you to do” with full impatiency of hearing me explain the issue I met. I ended up stopped using SDA on Windows.
That’s terrible! No customer should be treated like that.
That was a long time ago. Perhaps that person has moved on. You could give it another try; it couldn’t hurt.
