Is anybody here from the good old days? (yrs2000-2005)

Congrats and Good luck!
{‘-’}

Yes! A wedding! Congratulations!

Thank you, both

Congrats on married life Glyn! I seem to recall you dabbling in violin back then? Knowing your perfectionist stylings on vocals and guitar, I am sure your violin skills are more that ready to be heard on this forum. Your vocals on the blues jam still gives me chills! Just listening to “I’ll take care of you” now… perfect example of those chills! :sunglasses:

Yeah, I see Ian’s photos on instagram all the time and I’m blown away. It must be nice to live in such a picturesque country. New Zealand is definitely on my bucket list. No, I’m not planning on dying anytime soon, just sayin.

… not such a far-fetched idea after all perhaps?

An open confession that he had spent too much time in this and apparently some other forums presenting himself as having extensive DAW experience and knowledge that…as most anyone could tell over a short period of time…he didn’t have. Keep in mind this was a time when…unlike today…the Cubase forum was very active and you could learn lots of cool things from very knowledgeable people as long as you learned to tolerate all the noise. PhilExpert contributed to the noise in what seemed most every Cubase thread. Anyway he said he was seeking professional counseling, and said he was going away.

Never heard from PhilExpert again…unless he has reinvented himself after going to Full Sail.

… whose parents may have even met here.[/quote]

Thats too frightening.

LMFAO HowlingULF

“The orange guy who just knew best all the time and thought he was the brain police or something! Total weirdo!”

I got into it a couple times with him and he would request that I be banned like every time I confronted him.

“brain police or something” could’ve been an early version of Brains, his royal self…!

MIKE!!!

Yeah, cool guy, I’m connected with him on Facebook.
I don’t think he does any recording at the moment.
He plays bass in a blues band (on cruise ships! :astonished: ) and repairs old analog gear.

You mean Elien. Haven’t heard from him for a long time.
I wonder what happened?..

Howdy Vaughn,

You know what, my wife doesn’t like that verse at all! Go figure?

Yeah, that was a great project with LOTS of great talent. Agree with you 100% on Joe’s guitar work on that outro. ALL the players really did fantastic work.

Best Wishes to You and Yours,
Nick

Subpantelis was exsssssstremely amusing.

Others, if not mentioned:

Jeraz
Jet
Berg
Tank
Harpo
Bandersnatch

I don’t remember Harpo, but did Hippo vanish? Or was he so disillusioned with C7 that he stayed with C6?

I remember him as very helpful and knowledgeable, but never see his posts any longer.

What was the name of the fellow who campaigned for movable frozen vst parts for about a decade?

Ah - just remembered … one of my heroes … BUBBA … not been around for a while.

I’m sure I’ve got someof his work somewhere … if I can find it, I’ll up it and post a link

Tones2 - and it was kind of right to see it as an incomplete feature. You SHOULD be able to move parts around, frozen or not. It’s kind of the whole idea with a sequencer. You COULD or can rather export/import but that creates a whole layer of mess on top of a maybe already complex project. Problem not solved.

Yeah, that’s the funky “electronica” guy! :sunglasses:

Yeah, Bubba!.. Made some very catchy tunes! :sunglasses:
Haven’t got a clue what happened to him…

I have been a Steinberger since 1988 with Pro 24 v3

But my first foray into MIDI was when I used to work for Peter Gabriel promoting Fairlight CMI 3…

I still run Pro 24 !!

I remember this place when it was just a barn with no heating or air con. Still the same, I see

I used to be horrified when Phil Expert was here cos I’m called Phil but I’m no expert. Easy to get confused so just don’t ask me anything
