Hi, i have the exact same problem. Same message. I owne cubase 11 pro, SpectraLayers 7 and wavela 10. And every time i had to use another PC to be able to use “Steinberg Download Assistant” I should be able to get proper guide line, from somewhere. Hopefuly from you. Today i’ve got the: “Alto Glockenspiel Essential” same problem again. Could you please help me with it so that i avoid everytime waisting my time on transfering? Thanks

What message are you getting? What isn’t happening? What have you tried?

Ideally, if this is a Cubase situation, you should be getting help on the Cubase Forum.

Unfortunately having the same problem after purchasing Dorico 3.5.
I am simply trying to download this software onto a new computer and move my e-license onto a USB drive, but I can’t get past this simple stage. Have installed/reinstalled the download assistant twice. I simply get: “A connection to the download server could not be established. Check your internet connection and try again.”

Here is the most recent log file

Sorry to hear that, Aaron, and welcome to the forum. You can download the installers you need directly from this web page, which should allow you to get back up and running in the meantime.

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem, all is ok with my internet connection. eLicenser Control Center is working without problems (6.12.7.1287).
I downloaded my product directly from link in the forum. The question is why Steinberg promotes the tool which is not working? I suppose that from the same reason Steinberg Hub is not working correctly.

The SDA does work and has always worked for me; so I imagine it works for many more. Yes, some folks have had difficulty with it, and it is good that Steinberg provides another option for those folk. Still, I would not dismiss it as useless, although I would agree that Steinberg should endeavor to make it work for everyone, regardless of any computer configurations that might conflict.

I agree, so lets wait for official answer of Steinberg support…would be fantastic to talk with development team…I can provide my log from java. Steinberg, are you interested in?

From my log file, the reason/root cause is:
Caused by: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

Win10, 64bit, logs from C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Local\Steinberg Download Assistant\logs directory.

Artur, please feel free to email your log files to me at d dot spreadbury at steinberg dot de and I will pass them on to the SDA development team.

I solved the issue “SDA can’t connect to the server”. I had a virus deflecting my connections on a proxy http://127.0.0.1:86. Check on windows 10 your proxy setting/script address must be deactivated.
If not, deactivate it. Exit Proxy setting and re-enter. If you find the script address automatically activated then search for that address in the regedit and delete it forever.
Hope my experience being useful. Cheers
