Key command for 'Edit instrument channel settings' ?

Dylan is talking about the output shown below the fader (not the actual output in the tab). This is shown incorrectly after the project has been shut down and reopened. The macro I created to allow a key press to emulate the ‘Edit Instrument Channel settings’ button relies on this being correct.

It always defaults to the master output.

When you click ‘Edit Instrument Channel Settings’…

It shows the correct output at the fader

But if you use the Edit Channel Settings (which we have to use for the macro to work)…

then it shows the incorrect output channel

If only Steinberg would give us ‘Edit Instrument Channel Settings’ in the Key Commands menu this would all go away and I wouldn’t have to create a macro which relies on the Edit Channel Settings showing the correct output at the fader.

I waiting for this key command (also in Generic remote) over 10 years !!!

Yes! Please Steinberg, we need this key command…should not be so difficult to implement?

Is it imposible to make it work without showing the output section of the editor?
Nice workaround though!!!

I waiting for this commad too over 10 years. One of the most important for me

Is there a way to get some steinberg employee to see this? I don´t think that a simple keycommand could be so difficult to implement, after so much time!

This should be implimented as I mostly wor k with rack instruments. Also if VSL is being used the edit on the midi channel has to openup it’s corresponding audio return track. It’s obvious. No one what’s to fiddle around with a midi channel settings atleast on a daily basis. Please stienberg, fix this and make our life’s easier!

Yes, this should be done in Cubase 11, I floated the idea to Matthias and he seemed rececptive, I hope it isn´t too hard to implement, It would make my life soooo much easer.

Yes, I hope it happens too! Most modern CPU’s can handle Kontakt/Omnisphere with multiple channels, and for the MIDI edit to take you to the MIDI channel when I want it to be audio is annoying!

+1 still not available in Cubase 12.

+1 Pretty please with a cherry on top!

This will do the trick

In Cubase 12 a default key command is not mapped, but you can map a key command to it as “Edit VST Instrument”. The “Edit Channel Settings” option is also available to map. In this screen shot I’ve mapped the period (.) and forward slash (/) keys respectively.

I was amazed that the video creator did not also close the instrument editor via the key command.
