INSANE FLAW
So, the Key Editor is driving me and other people crazy when jumping to the start of a MIDI part/event when selecting a new track-event or toggling a MIDI-Event on and off in a multi selection.
I know, this insane behavior has been reported a decade ago, and it’s still a MAJOR problem in Cubase 14 (!).
The suggested workaround 9 years ago (instead of fixing it back then) is to press the “F” key twice. But not only that, it requires also to first select the Key Editor area.
Only in this way you can “restore” the Cursor position to the position it should have remained at the first place. Why move and scroll around in the first place? Why messing things up for the user and then not fixing it in over a decade?
This is honestly one of the craziest and most unintuitive behavior I have seen in a (allegedly professional) software.
Why hasn’t this been fixed already at least 9 years ago? (I found ancient complaints about this searching the forum).
And yes, I do press F twice, all day long. And since I also have to select the Key Editor I need to do:
- One (1) Select Key Editor and
- Two (2) keyboard clicks where there should be no extra click at all!.
Why? Please explain why all this time!
Last week I had to do all this clicking at hundreds of times in a day. Perhaps a thousand times a day on a complex arrangement that needs adjustments.
Insane.
It consumes most of my time when need to adjust MIDI notes out of sync on multiple tracks by sending me to “nowhere” every time I change or toggle track-event.
Please fix it, please.
