I’ve experienced this all year and was just reminded to ask if it’s a known issue or bug, because it happens about 50/50. With the key editor open while viewing an instrument, I’ll click to select a note on the staff of another instrument. The key editor doesn’t update - still showing the previous instrument. I click a second time, and then it updates. It happens very often, like I said about half the time. It’s not a big deal but it gets confusing to click and it’s a roll of the dice whether or not the key editor will show your newly selected instrument.
It’s not a known issue, and nor is it something that has been reported by other users, to my knowledge. A quick test here doesn’t reproduce the problem, for what it’s worth.
Interesting. It happens to me daily, across the past several releases of Dorico. Since posting this thread it happened to me about a dozen times on a current project I’m automating. I wish I had more information as to how to reproduce it, so I don’t sound totally crazy. Would a diagnostic report be whatsover helpful in this regard?
No, I doubt it would tell us anything, unfortunately. If you can figure out the steps to reproduce the problem, on the other hand, that would be very helpful.
Ok, noted. It has happened to me on various kinds of projects so it is difficult to pinpoint, though it has all been on the same machine (Mac Studio M2). I am well past due for an OS upgrade for what it’s worth. I’ll keep my eyes peeled and perhaps do a screen recording to try to track the underlying issue. Thanks!
Also before I go starting any new threads, I wonder if this could be related or if it’s something you’ve heard about from other users as a known issue - but sometimes the copy opt/alt+click method of an element does not paste when I know for a fact it normally should (it’s not a question of an element that can’t be pasted or condensing view) – because when I tab away to another screen and back, it will then work again. This happens with less frequency than the key editor thing but maybe once or twice a day. If it’s nothing you’ve heard of before I guess I’ll add that to the list of computer oddities on my end.

No, in general there is no known problem with Alt+click failing to copy.
Thanks for letting me know. It seems that I have encountered a theme of issues which relate to screen/UI/mouse – which you have so kindly responded to each. I’m beginning to think if others are not experiencing them, these issues might very well be related to my computer, input device, or somewhat older version of MacOS. I’ll have to update soon and give it time, hopefully that will fix the issues, but I will let you know if they persist and I am able to provide more clear information.
Thanks again!
