Latency spikes

Hi

I’m hoping someone will be able to suggest a fix. I just upgraded my PC and I must admit I now have more issues than I did with my antiquated old Pentium machine.

PC specs:-

OS version: Windows 10, 10.0, version 2009, build: 19042 (x64)
Hardware: Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition, Alienware
BIOS: 2.2.2
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor
Logical processors: 32
Processor groups: 1
Processor group size: 32
RAM: 65460 MB total

Average latency is running between 10-30us. But frequently (every minute) I get a latency spike of 23900us which is causing crackles at best, frequently no sound via MIDI, and the odd Cubase crash. I’m using Native Instuments Komplete Kontrol. With a NI Audio 6 MkI interface. Latest NI Audio 6 ASIO drivers are re-installed. I’ve re-installed Cubase 11 Pro, but still have the the same problem. I’ve even changed my file system to non-indexed as recommended.

I’m getting buffer underuns. But I have nothing running in background.

LatencyMon is showing a large number of Hard Pagefaults in cubase11.exe

I’m hoping someone can help because I’m drawing a blank here.

Thanks

Andy

I’m running a similar setup, have a look at my recommended PC settings:

ASIO Guard, Multi Processing, and Disable Hyper Threading are key to the information I provided.

And here:

what is the driver that causes the 23900 us spike?
