Creating a lead sheet and the first word of the first verse is one syllable but the first word of the second verse is two syllables. The first verse needs the rest but the second verse needs another note and I cannot figure out how configure the measure to accommodate both.
This measure is within a repeat bar line boundary and the time sig is 6/8.
While Dorico has some quirks it is a remarkable piece of software compared to other programs over the last several decades but this issue got me to thinking. Part of what makes it so complicated is aligning and correlating the symbols and graphics with accurate playback and timing capability.
But for something like a simple lead sheet wherein playback is not a concern or even a requirement, does Dorico have some sort of “disable playback” or “graphics only” feature whereby you could just place notes, rests, voices, and symbols where they need to be so long as the end result aligns with conventional music notation?
Thanks.
