Media bay 1.1.30 Issue - Exported MIDI files not scanned

I am encountering this issue too (no MIDI files visible) in Cubase Media Bay and latest Groove Agent. I reverted to the previous GA5 version and can see MIDI files again, but Steinberg needs to fix this. I do prefer the look and layout of the new MediaBay.

So the groove mediabay update has broken Cubase mediabay?..
Just to be sure I checked all my other DAWS and they can read the new midi fine*

No the new Cubase media bay, version 1.1.30 is broken. But regardless of this they included it in the groove agent update, hence braking that also. You’d think Steinberg would have checked that you could see / use midi files in their media bay. Even worse that they’ve now added it to both Halion and Groove agent. Midi files being a big part of groove agents patterns. I find it incredibly that no one checked this before release.

Awesome. Can’t wait for the fix in cubase 14

Where did the new Cubase media bay, version 1.1.30 come from? Was included in the C13.0.20 update?
I have not seen any info on this. Hmmm?

This has only happened post Groove Agent update. To me at least. Only discovered it this morning rescanning for new midi I downloaded.

It updated automatically from using the Steinberg download manager. When was the last time you used the download manager?

Same problem here, it seems:

I’m a Nuendo user and after the new media bay update I have the same problem with the midi files. Of course, a way around it is just to ‘import’ midi files, but it’s a terrible work flow killer. I have to use N12 for heavy midi file use when working with the media bay. (Windows 11).

I also have the other problem of media bay hang when starting up Nuendo (it takes absolutely ages to open). If I run in Admin mode it bypasses this problem and opens quickly BUT, I can’t see midi files in the media bay. If I untick run as Admin the Midi files appear in the media bay, but then I’m back to the problem of very long loading times when opening up Nuendo. I presume it’s all related to this Media Bay update.

I’m also finding every time you open a plugin , it rescans the media’s bay for a preset , the preset’s are not there to start with , very time consuming

Definitely snaps you out of workflow. For me at least it’s been increasingly jarring.

Hello everyone,
I have also this issue, I made already another thread.

After update GA5 the browser doesn’t show user MIDI files. Later I’ve realized that not only in the GA5 browser but in Cubase Media Bay at all doesn’t show any user MIDI files. Only folders are visible also .wav files are visible but any user midi files nor. Before update was everything working well. Any help please?

I’ve already tried:

-all files selected as visible in file explorer (no hidden files)
-delete files (mediabay3,scannedChecksums3.bin,scannedFolders3.bin )
-rescan disk/disks in media bay
-refresh view in media bay
-remove folder from database
-no filters selected in media bay
-reinstalling Cubase 13
-reinstalling GA5
-updating graphic card driver

I’m Using:
Operating System: Win 11 Home (22H2)
RAM: 64.0 GB
Processor: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i9-11900K @ 3.50GHz 3.50 GHz

Cubase version 13.0.20
Groove Agent 5

Thanks

Thanks.
That’s what I figured… I used the download manager just 3-4 days ago

PS. That said, I always “ignored” the Media Bay as much as possible (ever since its inclusion)… And only testing C13 at this time (I’m trying to get the GUI/colours to my liking - to no avail so far).

Thanks again

The same issue! After update GA5 the browser in GA doesn’t show user MIDI files. :frowning:
Any chance to install the old version of GA???
Please FIX this bug, Steinberg!

If you have the installer for older version you can remove latest and install the older. I did that and can see MIDI files now in GA.

In addition to not seeing MIDI files I notice I don’t see any of my presets. I have to admit I have never used the Media Bays much but did want to for loading MIDI patterns into GA so that got me looking more at all this. I the main Cubase Media Bay under menus, as well as right side bar, I don’t see any of my saved presets etc. I will need to look at this more to see if it’s a me (the user) issue or Steinberg thing for the presets. MIDI is 100% Steinberg issue.

I think it’s just the midi files that you can’t see. To see your own presets make sure you have the user tab open. Mind you I can’t test now because I’ve gone back to the earlier GA version…5.1.20.

Where can one get an earlier version?

Sorry don’t know. I always keep my earlier install files.

I just opened and checked, side by side, C11 and C13, there are definite things missing in C13: User VST FX Presets, User VST Instrument Presets (in this case the preset was even created in 13 but only shows in 11!) as couple examples I found.

Oops. Yep it seems you’re right.
