Media bay 1.1.30 Issue - Exported MIDI files not scanned

I can now along with no longer being able to find new midi files can no longer find new audio files as of this morning. Rescan times out…This is really bad.

As of the GA update over the last few days I have gone from no longer being able to find new user midi after rescan in GA mediabay or Cubase 13 mediabay + As of just now I can no longer rescan and find audio files now that are clearly there >

After update GA5 the browser doesn’t show user MIDI files in GA as well :frowning:

I know and as of today it will no longer find audio either. Rescan does nothing :sob: How? How can you do this to your customers and just be silent? I don’t think I’ve seen one dev comment “sorry, your not all crazy, we broke something and were working as fast as we can to fix it”
How hard is it to communicate with the forum you use as unpaid customer service?!

Yep, it’s so strange. Seems that at this moment you need to wait after update something from Steinberg… It is the reason why I am still on Cubase 12… It was my mistake to upgrade GA…
And nobody know when this will be fixed…

I can’t believe I said “Thankyou” on the post they made saying “we finally updated the mediabay for groove agent” like they weren’t about to just make it impossible to work for the next indefinite time…I wonder if studio one is paying someone inside Cubases coding team to sabotage. Cause this is unbelievable…I’d laugh if I wasn’t crying.
P.s. Wait for them to tell us it’s our computers fault lol

Hi all,
Cubase 13 - up until yesterday MIDI files were showing in the File Explorer on the right hand side, now they are not there, however they are in Windows Explorer
The things I have tried :

  • rescanned disks in Mediabay
  • remove folder and add back in MediaBay
  • Deleted files called Mediabay.db and scannedfolders.bin scannedchecksum.bin
  • reset prefeerences
  • started in safe mode

Still after all this the midi files have gone missing !

Any advice would be appreciated - I bet its a small thing I missing but boy is it frustrating!

Is there a filter blocking those results, or perhaps the media type filter up top?

No filter

All been reset

Uninstalled it and reinstalled. Same problem.

I’m having the same problem, also Cubase Pro 13 - first noticed it yesterday and spent quite a few hours trying the many solutions proposed in various threads to no avail. I did reinstall Cubase 12- and with a click at the bottom of the file explorer window, all the midi files are present as usual, but nothing I do seems to make them appear in 13. This is in media bay and file browser.

I’ve gone back to using Cubase 12 for the time being… everything works as it should.

Cubase 12 works fine

I had paid for StudioOne a few years ago and started using that. Looks like I am back to StudioOne for now although i much prefer Cubase

For now I need something that is reliable and works

Having this issue as of right now :frowning: C13.0.20

I am now using Cubase 12 and it works perfectly as it should.

Maybe its something to do with Windows updates as I am having issues on a Window machine

Strange that all DAWs are working though.

StudioOne is fine aswell

Yeah. Wouldn’t surprise me. Working in 13 it like a game of roulette.

Wow. Out of nowhere. From what I can tell unless the midi is saved within Cubase it will now not find any newly downloaded midi. Nor even if I duplicate old midi files cubase recognised yesterday. No ability to locate new ones…

Any devs online to help with this ??

I found this just now Media bay 1.1.30 Issue - Exported MIDI files not scanned
But the devs have a lot on their plate.

Tag this as an Issue. Maybe Steinberg will take note

I have a Windows 10 machine and one with 11 - same Cubase 13 pro issue on each machine. C12- I can browse and audition the midi drum files (Ugritone midi grooves) but when I switch to C13 there is nothing in the media bay and nothing in the file browser. WAV files like IRs will show up, however.
My ‘solution’ is to use 12 for browsing drum files. When I’ve chosen the ones I want to work with I drop them in the project and I can continue editing them in 13.
This is a recent thing for me also, it happened some time in the last month or so (I don’t browse midi files every day). I was able to browse MIDI last time, couldn’t this time.
