MIDI export bug

When exporting to a MIDI file Cubase does not set the file extension :person_facepalming:. That is, it does not actually add “*.mid” after the file name. This also applies to MIDI type 0.

It works as expected here with Cubase 14 on Windows.

This has happened to me once. A second attempt DID have the file extension. The first time I just appended the .mid to the exported file and it worked. Not sure what caused it because I did everything identically the second time. Windows 11 Cubase Pro all up to date.

Nop. The *.mid extension must be added manually after export.
And this happens in any language of the file name.

Well it did work for me, and always has in the past. So what’s different between what you & I are doing?

The extra dot after no12. in the filename may be the issue

I tried different options. Even just putting a period at the end of the file name. BUT! Today, a miracle happened—the file was saved with the extension! And this coincidence is frightening…
