MIDI recorded notes have a negative delay

Hi there,

Suddenly I encountered this issue with both Cubase 12 and 13 PRO
I record with my keyboard and all notes are added in the midi editor earlier than played, see picture below

I tried what they advice here but nothing has changed for me even after restarting and creating new tracks

I am using an m-audio Hammer 88 keyboard connected via USB and an HDSPe AIO PRO card from RME audio

Anyone has encountered and solved already this issue?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Are you on Windows or Mac, please? If you are on Windows, try to enable the WinRT in the Studio > Studio Setup > MIDI Ports Setup, please.

Hi Martin,

I am in Windows, I just noticed that at startup it takes 10 seconds in the initializing winRT Midi phase, which was not the case before, any idea what could be?

So I have activated winRT Midi, but this has caused my keyboard to not work anymore, even if recognized and active, there was no MIDI input sent anymore in Cubase.
Then I disabled it again, and the MIDI input came back again.

With big surprise, after this enabling/disabling the recording proble was solved.
I have also tried restarting Cubase, and still the recording is ok.

Very strange, but I am happy.
Still any idea why WinRT Midi initialization takes so long at startup?

Thanks
Marco

Hi,

No idea, sorry.

I’m glad you sorted it out.

Thank you for your hint
