Hi,
I was just working in an (Ambisonics-) project for hours using LFO modulators on several tracks for panning (with VSTMultipanner).
After I finally exported the project, I realized, that some tracks had weird panning and looked into the modulators again. There I saw that all modulators in the project on all tracks had lost all their connections to what I assigned them to. So I had to remember what I did with each modulator and all their settings and set everything up again by hand.
I don’t know when in the process that happend, but it can not be too long before exporting, because otherwise I would’ve noticed the unwanted panning beforehand.
Has anyone also experienced that already?
(my backup is now, that I created a modulator preset for each modulator named after the track and with the settings in the name, so in case that happens again, I can at least recall it faster)
I had only this project open and no second project opened simultaniously.
Did you close the project but not Cubase, then re-open open the project?
I also can’t get Modulator assignments to duplicate to a duplicate track, nor import properly from Track Archives, or Import Tracks From Project.

It’s looking like this could occur simply by opening the project. Closing and re-opening the project any number of times might bring them back so long as you didn’t save the project when they went missing.
Happens to me all the time, has been happening for months now without a fix. Super annoying and one of the many many bugs and reasons why I’m transitioning to another DAW after having been a cubase user for a long time

because I don’t know when the problem occures, I cannot really say if I re-opened the project in between or not.
But the Modulators also don’t duplicate when I duplicate the track.
I tried your repro steps, but even with re-opening cubase in between they still worked.
But in my project that I was working on as mentioned in the original post, it happend again and again, but never with a clear sign on when exactly they dissapeared.
And I never changed the levels of the modulators, but once they changed their reference levels by themselves. Luckily I had all the information written in the preset names for myself to recreate their connections…
I take it back! I reactivated the projects back and forth a few more times and eventually it happend. The connections were gone.
But then… after a few more reactivations they also returned!
