This used to be called:
“Tried to install Cubase 14.0.5 but Dowload Assistant failed!”
This is a new topic because I got Cubase 14 downloaded separately and now that works. I can’t use the Download Assistant for anything though. Still “Please try again later!” …
I used the info in the email including the download access code and that apparently registered in the Download Assistant. Then it got worse.
Failed to update the following component Steinberg build-in ASIO Driver
I had the same problem. I posted about it, and I have seen others post about it. You are not alone with your problems, and as I have noticed, no solution is found.
For me, it started when Cubase 13.0.50 came along. SDA tried to update, but it said I needed to have an Asio driver installed to run SDA. So I managed to find that download and SDA seemed to be back to normal. However once I tried to download anything they are come back with some kind of error code. So I did the same, download manually and the software is working.
When trying to run SDA again, now I would get error messages about ALL the software that I did update manually every time I tried to do download via the SDA.
So I never solved it. My computer has been buggy for a while. I am also one of those who have that strange error message on occasion about missing Elicsenser even if I do not have any elicenser software or dongle on my computer.
So I did a reinstall of my system after about 3 years or so. Everything worked smoothly with very fast downloads even on Cubase 14 release day.
So in conclusion, Windows 11 or some code left behind from Steinberg is not working good together.
on a clean system all is working just as expected.
I would assume Steinberg is to blame too My computer was due so I saw this as the perfect chance to motivate myself to make a clean install… and it is all working
So … a few days later and it’s all a tranquil ocean again?
Is there a better topic for this or is something going on at all?
or
how do you download the rest of the stuff nowadays besides the Cubases 14 installer I found on the Steinberg download page?
Ok, I was having the same issue. When i’d boot the download assistant it was stating some issue about not having the steinberg asio driver. I installed that driver, restarted the app and voila, was able to download Cubase 14. I hope that helps. I tried to post the link to the download page, but it won’t let me.
i downloaded the drivers and nothing changed, im waiting on a solution from microsoft or steinberg whoever has the problem in their hands. i bought an audio interface from yamaha, got the key , done all setups needed and now i can just wait and put my faith in yall fixing problems
I’ve re-installed SDA twice, and twice downloaded and re-installed the 5 files specified on the Steinberg website. Perhaps something has to be changed in the registry or a file deleted?
Something is clearly stopping SDA working on my computer, and as many others seem to have a problem, I guess we will just have to wait until Steinberg sorts out what is wrong.
So six days later apparently I get a update on Steinberg’s facebook page where I can "harness the powerful synthesis of the new Drum Machine. Nice … so now they have fixed the Download Assistant so I can, you know … download again? Nope!
Can we have some kind of acknowledgment from Steinberg that there is a problem even?
I have had the same issues since upgrading to Cubase 14 ( Pro ) and was waiting here on a fix. I tried all the suggested fixes but nothing worked. Then I noticed to the right of each downloaded app/sound is a box that says “Install”. When I click the dropdown arrow in the box I can “Cancel” or “Cancel and delete files” When I picked that for EVERY entry in the list everything now works as it should.
To echo, my download assistant isn’t working either. It’s been highly stable for years, so the new update seems to have broken it.
I have got Cubase 14 running smoothly, but I had to download all the parts separately and install them manually.
It’s all there in the link. If you had Cubase 13, the only new parts to download would be Cubase 14, the new Drum Machine and you can update your Spectralayers
As an update, my SDA just started working normally. I hadn’t updated it.
This suggests it may have been down to the servers getting battered on release day? Anyway, all seems fine now.
